Panattoni reclaims more post-industrial land within city limits

Panattoni is approaching half a million sqm delivered in the City Logistics segment in Poland. This time, the developer has set out to develop 25,000 sqm of speculative space on Dostawcza Street in Lodz. It will be a brownfield development, which will be built on a former gas bottling plant site. City Logistics Łódź VI will receive BREEAM certification at the Excellent level, and the developer will, among other things, prepare the roof for the installation of photovoltaic panels.

Panattoni has delivered hundreds of thousands of square meters within Lodz's borders, including more than 100,000 square meters within the City Logistics facilities, providing an excellent platform for last-mile logistics. Now the developer is launching its sixth investment of this kind in the region's capital - 25,000 sqm of industrial space will be built on Dostawcza Street within a single building. The attractiveness of the location is confirmed by the full commercialization of two Panattoni projects adjacent to City Logistics Łódź VI. The location within the city limits provides very good access to urban infrastructure, including public transportation, which will make it much easier for employees to get to the facility efficiently.

"The City Logistics facilities combine an excellent urban location with full flexibility. The small modules allow for even smaller operations, and the modern space allows for a variety of processes, from warehousing, light manufacturing, logistics, e-commerce, even service activities. City Logistics Łódź VI will be another important business platform for the city, attracting representatives of various industries, who will gain a base to serve both the city, the region and even the whole country, thanks to Łódź's central location." - says Katarzyna Kujawiak, Development Director at Panattoni.

As part of its "Go Earthwise with Panattoni" strategy, the developer is increasingly expanding its portfolio of brownfield investments, which by 2022 accounted for as much as 1/3 of the company's total developments. By reclaiming degraded brownfield sites, the company is embodying the tenets of a circular economy. Due to the lower availability of new land within city limits, it is the City Logistics segment that is becoming the driving force behind brownfields, as exemplified by the latest Lodz development. The development is being built on the site of a decommissioned gas bottling plant, which will allow the land to be reused for urban development.

City Logistics investments delivered by Panattoni across Poland are used by dozens of industries. Thanks to good access to the recipient in the city, this type of facility is very often relied upon by growing e-commerce, or e-grocery, which want to reach the customer even on the day of the order. In addition, start-ups, small and medium-sized retailers and commercial and manufacturing companies use the space. In recent years, customers such as FM Logistics, DSV, Rhenus Logistics, Frisco, Barbora, Żabka, Raven, Well Pack, InPost and OneDayMore have relied on City Logistics from Panattoni.
