AliExpress opens its first independent logistics center in Poland

AliExpress, a global platform belonging to Alibaba Group, is opening its first independent logistics center in Poland. The logistics hub was created in cooperation with Cainiao, the platform's logistics arm. The company has leased over 10,000 sqm of warehouse space at Panattoni Park Łódź West. During the negotiation process, the tenant was represented by experts from MAXON Nieruchomości.

AliExpress is focusing on Poland. For its largest logistics hub in the Central and Eastern Europe region, the platform chose a Panattoni logistics center located in Konstantynów Łódzki. As part of Panattoni Park Łódź West, 10,000 sqm of modern warehouse space was leased for the needs of a fulfillment center for AliExpress sellers shipping products directly from Poland. This is the largest infrastructure investment carried out by AliExpress in the Central and Eastern Europe region.

„We are pleased that our client has found warehouse space that meets their business needs. The ideal location of the warehouse (the central part of the country) ensures not only convenient communication and logistics conditions, but also access to qualified employees from the Łódź area.” – comments Dariusz Sroka, Head of Industrial at MAXON Nieruchomości.

Panattoni Park Łódź West will serve as a fulfillment center for AliExpress sellers shipping products directly from Poland. The investment will significantly improve the platform's operations in the country and the region. By November of this year, the company wants goods ordered on the platform to reach the largest cities in Poland in as little as 1 day and any other town in 3 days. Combined with free delivery for over 80 percent of products, this creates an excellent opportunity to expand the user base in the country, which, according to data from August of this year, has already exceeded 11 million. The center will also play a strategic role for deliveries to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Austria.

„Over the last few years, we have become a reliable choice for e-commerce giants and a symbol of successful expansion. We provide facilities tailored to the recipient, in strategic locations and at an attractive time, and we are also always ready to expand our clients' operations” – says Kamil Kwiatkowski, Senior Leasing Manager at Panattoni, and adds: „Polish e-commerce is growing rapidly. Back in 2015, only half of internet users in the country bought online, and now it is nearly 8 out of 10. Furthermore, by 2026, the value of the e-commerce market in Poland is expected to reach 162 billion PLN, which is over 3 times more than in 2018.”

Panattoni Park Łódź West, where the AliExpress logistics center was established, will ultimately occupy 61,000 sqm within a single class A building. So far, 20,000 sqm has been completed. The facility is being built in the vicinity of the Western Łódź Bypass, which connects the S8 expressway – running from Lower Silesia to Białystok – and the A2 motorway, connecting Łódź with Warsaw, Poznań, and Berlin. Furthermore, the park is located less than 10 km from the center of the region's capital and just 8 km from the Reymont international airport. Panattoni Park Łódź West is being implemented in accordance with the „Go Earthwise with Panattoni” sustainable development concept, ensuring, among other things, increased access to daylight.
