Anti-smog paving stones at GLP logistics centers

GLP is implementing another eco-friendly solution in its buildings in Poland. A pilot project using special paving stones created by the company Libet, which purifies the air of harmful substances, has been completed at GLP Wrocław IV Logistics Centre.

Part of the parking lot at GLP Wrocław IV Logistics Centre has recently been covered with paving stones with anti-smog properties. Its manufacturer – the company Libet, uses a special ingredient containing titanium dioxide. Under the influence of sunlight, it reduces the concentration of harmful nitrogen oxide particles in the air, originating, for example, from car exhaust fumes, by more than one-third. Nitrogen oxides are oxidized into harmless ions and then washed away by precipitation. In the same way, troublesome dirt remaining on the concrete surface, such as aerosols, fats, oils, or dust, is removed.

GLP Wrocław IV Logistics Centre is located within the borders of Wrocław, meeting the requirements of companies that need easy access to a modern road network for the distribution of their products to the local, national, and international market. Suppliers from the automotive sector, such as Gestamp or Dongshin, operate here. There are offices on-site.

„Our clients are increasingly taking into account factors related to environmental protection and employee health. Based on this, they are modifying their supply chains and using infrastructure that allows them to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve their sustainability goals. With them and the local community in mind, we are eager to reach for innovative technologies” – says Magdalena Warzyńska, Property Manager at GLP, who manages the logistics center.

This is not the only solution at GLP Wrocław IV Logistics Centre that aligns the project with the company's ESG strategy (environmental, social, and corporate governance). Park users can reduce electricity consumption, among other things, thanks to the use of LED lighting and numerous roof skylights. The park also houses the first GLP apiary in Poland.
