DHL Supply Chain has opened a zero-emission warehouse near Warsaw

In response to the growing demand for sustainable logistics solutions, DHL Supply Chain is laying the groundwork for development at its new, zero-emission warehouse in Teresin. This innovative investment, located 50 km west of Warsaw, aligns with the supply chain management leader's strategy, highlighting the company's commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development.

Strategically located in a logistics hub on the western outskirts of Warsaw, the Teresin warehouse was designed with the goal of minimizing environmental impact. The zero-emission facility, which will ultimately consist of three modules containing over 90,000 sq m of modern warehouse space, has achieved BREEAM certification at the "Excellent" level. In the first phase, warehouse A was built in Teresin with an area of 29,000 sq m, of which 8,500 sq m is addressed to companies in the e-commerce sector.

– As a company, we know that there are no shortcuts to sustainable, efficient logistics that are in harmony with the environment. It is facilities like this one in Teresin that are the future of warehouse logistics, because they provide much more than space for storage and performing various operations. The foundation of our philosophy is supporting the business of our tenants and helping them in their further development by reaching for the latest solutions and innovations. What is important, we create a large part of them from scratch – emphasizes Anna Galas, Business Development Director, DHL Supply Chain.

The list of tenants at the Teresin warehouse already includes companies from sectors such as: retail, FMCG, clothing, tobacco, and construction. Part of the space is occupied by companies from the medical and pharmaceutical industries. They benefit from the adaptation of the facilities (including cold chain) to rigorous safety requirements and compliance with regulations governed by law and good practices, as well as the staff's experience in handling logistics processes for pharmaceuticals.

The advantage of the facility's location in Teresin, besides its proximity to Warsaw and good access to the nearby DK92 and the A2 motorway, is the significant human resource potential and the availability of qualified workers. Additionally, during the high season, DHL Supply Chain can more efficiently manage human resources in Teresin by utilizing employees from 3 other logistics centers located in Łódź.
