FREJA launches a logistics center in Szczecin

The construction of the FREJA logistics center in Szczecin, a leading Scandinavian transport company, has been completed. The facility was built in the Płonia district, on the site of a former car market. The official opening is scheduled for this autumn.

The new FREJA logistics center covers an area of 8 hectares. It features modern warehouse halls with over 10,000 sqm of space for pallet storage, an office of nearly 1,000 sqm, and a parking lot for 250 trailers. In addition to goods storage and logistics services, there are also rest areas available for drivers.
Due to its proximity to Germany and easy access to the rest of Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries, Szczecin is an optimal location for logistics operations. The construction of the new logistics center in Szczecin is just the first investment step in Poland. The next step is to increase the fleet by 50 tractor units by the end of this year, and by another 50 units next year.

"Thanks to the new facility and the combination of warehousing and transport services, FREJA has the ability to provide comprehensive logistics services. Undoubtedly, the investment is a result of the development of the logistics industry in Poland and in Szczecin itself. The strategic location at the intersection of all types of transport routes, as well as easy access to sales and supply markets in Europe and worldwide, make Szczecin a convenient place to locate a business in the logistics industry" – emphasizes Tomasz Cegielski, Managing Director at FREJA Transport & Logistics Sp. z o.o.

In January 2018, FREJA acquired the Danish company Transcargo along with its branches in other Polish cities and a fleet of approx. 400 trailers. In January 2020, Transcargo sp. z o.o. changed its name to FREJA Transport & Logistic sp. z o.o. Thanks to the acquisition of Transcargo, FREJA increased its fleet to 2,700 trailers and strengthened its position in the transport market between Denmark, the Baltic countries, Central Europe, and Greece. Now it has the chance to become a comprehensive provider in the logistics market in Europe. The creation of the new logistics center is also associated with an increase in employment in Poland. FREJA expects to create approx. 100 new jobs.
