NewCold, a fast-growing advanced food logistics company, has announced that it is building a €112 million state-of-the-art warehouse in New Modlin, near Warsaw.
This will be NewCold’s second facility in Poland.
“We see Poland’s potential to become a major European food logistics hub. It is a future we want to help build. Our new facility outside Warsaw, combined with our existing site in Kutno, boosts our ability to meet customer needs in key markets in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Bram Hage, NewCold founder and CEO.
To realize the vision of building one of the world’s most advanced automated warehouses, NewCold has turned to Atlas Ward, a leader in the field of construction, as well as design and engineering experts Arcadis.
“This partnership perfectly aligns with Arcadis' strategic approach of collaborating with environmentally conscious clients, such as NewCold and assisting innovative companies within the logistics sector. We are delighted to work alongside a leading player in deep freeze automated logistics like NewCold, and we are thrilled to contribute to their success,” said John Atkins, Business Area Director (Places) Central and Southern Europe at Arcadis.
The new warehouse will create 90 jobs and add 94,600 pallet positions, bringing NewCold’s total capacity in Poland to 207,200 pallet positions.
“Beyond the economic impact and high-quality jobs created by this investment, our new facility will help to strengthen the resilience of the food supply chain. And our international footprint means we can help Polish food producers access new markets,” said Roberto Alessio, VP of Business and Growth Eastern Europe.
“We believe in modern and eco-friendly construction technologies. That's why the new investment we are implementing for NewCold will be equipped with a range of environmentally friendly solutions, including a photovoltaic installation, as well as automation of logistic processes. The trust that NewCold has shown in us demonstrates that an emphasis on quality, maintaining a steady level of development, and a large portfolio of successfully completed projects are key arguments that make our company so popular among investors,” says Mariusz Górecki, CEO and Management Board Chairman of Atlas Ward Polska.
The NewCold warehouse, with a total surface area of 27,000 m2, helps to cement Poland’s future as a major logistics hub.
