Panattoni creates an InPost logistics center at the Central European Logistics Hub in Łódź

Panattoni is shifting into a higher gear in its cooperation with InPost. The developer has begun construction of 8,700 sqm as part of the Central European Logistics Hub in Łódź. In 2021 alone, Panattoni completed nearly 100,000 sqm of logistics centers for InPost across 11 locations. Thanks to Panattoni's developments within and on the outskirts of cities, the end customer receives faster service, including in smaller towns.

The Central European Logistics Hub, where Panattoni will provide space for InPost, is the largest logistics complex in Europe being created by the developer, with a planned area of over 600,000 sqm. The investment is located on Jędrzejowska Street in Łódź, right next to the A1 – the only Polish north-south motorway. The hub is located just 30 km from the Łódź Północ junction, which is the intersection of the A1 and A2 motorways. InPost decided to implement its latest project - with an area of 8,700 sqm - within the hub, because it will allow for more efficient customer service in the Łódź agglomeration.

Cooperation driven by e-commerce. Nearly 100,000 sqm across 12 locations – this is the balance of all projects completed by Panattoni for InPost in 2021. New centers were built in Wałbrzych, Poznań, Wrocław, Kalisz, Siedlce, Goleniów, Białystok, Olsztyn, Warsaw, and two in Kraków. Furthermore, in the coming months – alongside the project in Łódź - Panattoni will deliver another 85,000 sqm as part of investments in Rzeszów, Tychy/Mikołów, Radom, Warsaw, Konin, Piła, Gdańsk, Grudziądz, and Kraków.

„While 5-6 years ago, little more than 50 percent of internet users in Poland shopped online, today it is nearly 80 percent. A key challenge for companies delivering parcels is to shorten delivery time as much as possible, and distribution centers on the outskirts or within city limits, which are one of Panattoni's specialties, work perfectly for this task." – says Robert Dobrzycki, CEO and Co-Owner of Panattoni and adds: -„Infrastructure development is also natural for InPost. A growing customer base requires modern facilities across the country – especially since nearly 70 percent of e-commerce customers live in towns with fewer than 200,000 inhabitants. That is why Panattoni, which provides access to strategic locations, proves to be an excellent partner”.

„We have a very extensive logistics base in Poland, which allows us to achieve very fast delivery times to Paczkomat® lockers, which is effectively D+1. In current times, an effective combination of hub operations, transport, and couriers is quite a challenge – especially with the volumes of parcels we handle daily. This shows that we understand and know how to manage such a large network perfectly. Now we want to demonstrate these competencies in Europe, which has been struggling for several years with problems in achieving fast deliveries, on parameters similar to those in Poland” – emphasizes Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.

Panattoni has been observing the trend of increasing e-commerce share in retail for years, thanks to which it has specialized in providing space dedicated to online sales, both in „big box” formats, parks dedicated to multiple tenants, last-mile, and BTS facilities. To date, the developer has completed approximately 4 million sqm of space dedicated to e-commerce, which accounts for 30 percent of Panattoni's total completions to date.

Nearly 550,000 sqm have already been built within the Central European Logistics Hub, and approximately 40,000 sqm remain under construction. Companies that have already decided to develop in the Hub include BSH Sprzęt Gospodarstwa Domowego, Media Expert, and SMYK. The Hub is driving the development of the New Industrial District of Łódź with the potential to create 7,000 jobs.
