Panattoni is uncovering the potential of new markets. After completing the first building at Panattoni Park Piła, the developer immediately started work on the next one – with an area of 38,500 sqm, the construction of which is already entering its final stage. As much as 85 percent of the new space will be occupied by CEVA Logistics, a global leader in 3PL logistics, which will serve a global leader in the lighting sector – Signify (formerly Philips Lighting).
Piła is the largest agglomeration in northern Greater Poland, offering a wide portfolio of land prepared for investment. The potential is also driven by the city's location – halfway between rapidly developing markets – Poznań and Bydgoszcz – while ensuring efficient access to Warsaw and the country's western border.
- „To utilize the market's potential, appropriate resources of modern industrial space are needed, which is why after completed projects both in the BTS format and within our first park, we have started another construction, and in about 2 months we will deliver nearly 40,000 sqm – says Dorota Jagodzińska-Sasson, Managing Director at Panattoni –„We want to create facilities that will work perfectly in serving dozens of industries, as well as many markets – both Polish and European. Importantly, our new facility will allow us to reference the nearly 60-year history of Piła as one of the most important centers for lighting component production in Poland” – she adds.
In June this year, Panattoni started the construction of 38,000 sqm, which it will deliver in February 2024. CEVA Logistics will use 32,500 sqm, and the space will be developed to handle operations for Signify, a global leader in intelligent lighting, continuing the tradition in Piła started by the Lumen and Polam plants, which were acquired by Philips.
The Panattoni facility will be equipped with the Philips Dynalite control system, which will provide motion detection and automatic lighting adjustment relative to daylight. Additionally, detailed analysis of data from the lighting control system will support ongoing infrastructure maintenance. An innovation will also be luminaires equipped with VLC technology, allowing for indoor navigation using lighting infrastructure. Each luminaire will act as a navigation network point transmitting a special code, read by a camera on a mobile device. Such a solution allows replacing navigation systems based on WiFi and bluetooth beacons and can effectively streamline order picking processes. The facility will also be equipped with luminaires printed in 3D technology, the production of which takes place in accordance with the circular economy idea, i.e., from recyclable materials. There will also be a NatureConnect solution developed in accordance with the principles of biophilic design, with which we replicate natural daylight indoors.
The park's location 5 km from the center of Piła allows for efficient access by public transport. The investment will undergo BREEAM certification at the Excellent level, and CEVA Logistics will use, among other things, a fast-charging system for forklifts and photovoltaic panels. Furthermore, circular lighting will be used at the facility. The luminaires have been designed in accordance with the principles of the circular economy, in order to minimize waste and negative environmental impact. They are also characterized by one of the highest efficiencies on the market, which will translate into lower maintenance costs. Signify lighting will illuminate both the interior of the warehouse and the outdoor area.
