Panattoni once again tailor-made for DHL

Panattoni with new Build-to-own development for global brand. DHL Parcel is using the nearly 9,000 sq. m. cross-dock facility the company acquired late last year.

A perfectly tailored cooperation. Panattoni has regularly executed tailor-made cross-dock facilities for the DHL Group over the past five years. The developer has delivered, among others, two investments in Greater Poland, including a 105,000 sqm facility in Żerniki, where the Supply Chain division runs operations for the e-commerce clothing giant. Panattoni also delivered two BTS facilities in the Warsaw region for DHL Parcel, totaling 17,000 sqm: in Pruszków and Radzymin.

Successful realizations in the capital's market have confirmed the developer's capabilities, and it has completed another investment, this time in the BTO formula, for DHL Parcel, in Kostrzyn - 20 km from Poznań. At the end of December 2022, the company acquired a cross-dock facility of about 9,000 sqm. With a sufficiently large number of gates and a sorter, the investment effectively serves as a parcel handling center. As part of it, the company uses a two-story office, occupying nearly 1,000 sqm.

"The Bulid-to-own formula is always an expression of great trust, which in the case of cooperation with DHL Group has been built on the ground of many BTS realizations throughout Poland. This is also another facility we have developed for the company in the Wielkopolska region, which confirms the huge potential of the region for companies with an international reach - thanks, among other things, to the proximity of the A2 highway connecting Poznań with Berlin - the main logistics center of Central Europe," says Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director at Panattoni, and adds: - "The history of our cooperation with DHL is also the history of the increasing standard of sustainable realizations, as each successive one was more and more advanced in terms of green and energy-efficient solutions. It's a great feeling to add our contribution to the Go Green concept implemented by DHL and the company's drive towards zero carbon."

"The investment completed for DHL by Panattoni is of great operational importance. The hall alone occupies an area of almost 8,000 sqm. The facility has been equipped with Poland's first cross-belt system, allowing for flawless sorting of 7,500 shipments per hour. It is worth noting that the operating unit in Kostrzyn near Poznan is one of the most modern and efficient facilities of its kind in Europe. We continue to develop our expertise and invest in more and more innovative solutions. As a result, we are significantly increasing our efficiency and responding to our customers' needs, which we put first." - Underlines Arkadiusz Stasiak, Vice President of Operations at DHL Parcel Poland.

As part of the sub-zone investment, DHL Parcel is benefiting from, among other things, photovoltaic installations, electric car charging stations and dusk sensors for outdoor lighting. Infrastructure for cyclists has also been erected at the investment site, and Panattoni has taken care of planting trees and shrubs to enrich the ecosystem, as well as flower meadows that do not require frequent mowing. The developer also erected houses for insect and bird invertebrates.

The BTO investment was built in Kostrzyn - 20 km from the center of Poznań and 30 km from Poznań-Lawica Airport. The facility for DHL is located 3.5 km from the Kostrzyn junction, which connects the A2 highway with the S5 expressway, running through Wrocław and Bydgoszcz, among other cities.
