Prologis Essentials Europe – warehouse solutions that drive business growth

Prologis announces the launch of the new Essentials platform in Europe, providing comprehensive logistics solutions and efficiency in the areas of operations, energy and sustainability, electromobility, and workforce solutions.

The first platform of its kind in the industry, it addresses some of the most critical challenges in global logistics, enabling warehouse operators around the world to focus on growing their business from day one.

Four categories of Essentials solutions
Operations Essentials provides comprehensive support for all warehouse operations in a sustainable manner, at any time, including after the lease period ends. Solutions include a wide range of racking systems, order picking equipment, forklifts, connectivity and IT systems, and automation solutions. In addition to purchase and rental options, Operations Essentials also includes buy-back programs and financing opportunities – another industry first, allowing customers to recover costs when they need it most.

“We pay attention to what our customers say. Regardless of company size, running a business while managing daily warehouse operations (especially during relocations) is a challenge. We eliminate this problem by offering our high standard of service at every stage of cooperation, leveraging our scale, access, and global expertise," says Mark Zulver, Senior Vice President, Head of Essentials, Prologis Europe.

Energy and Sustainability Essentials translates into savings for customers through solar energy programs, such as SolarSmart and StorageSmart. These are solutions that meet customers' carbon reduction goals, as well as those impacting warehouse efficiency – such as heat pumps or electric vehicle charging for equipment and fleets. Prologis is working on equipping its global portfolio with solar panels – the company currently generates and stores 450 MW of solar energy.

Electromobility Essentials enables customers to quickly and smoothly transition their fleet toward zero-emission vehicles and optimized logistics. The service offers workplace charging and fleet electrification for all companies, regardless of their size.

Workforce Essentials is a program that supports customers with solutions in recruitment, talent retention, and productivity through certification, smart logistics, and safety equipment, as well as upskilling training (available in selected countries, coming soon across Europe).

Key benefits
The Essentials platform provides a comprehensive approach to daily warehouse needs, regardless of whether you use a Prologis building or not. Our Essentials Solutions Managers act as advisors, dedicating time to each customer to understand their business, propose the right workforce solutions, and tailor solutions to optimize space for maximum productivity, safety, and employee well-being. Built on excellent customer service, the solutions are designed to avoid disruptions and eliminate common pain points – including thinking about maintenance, which Prologis offers. Flexible and future-proof solutions are implemented on time, within budget, and according to customer needs.

Prologis Essentials
"We needed more space for our operations, and due to challenges in the real estate market, finding new - and better in terms of location - available space in a logistics hotspot in Rotterdam was almost impossible. Thijs Fleers and the entire Prologis Essentials team proposed a solution that exceeded our expectations; they listened to our needs. Today, we are still in our existing building, but it feels like a completely new space! We gained a multi-level mezzanine that tripled our existing warehouse space. Prologis Essentials managed the project from start to finish – from providing warehouse space and equipment, through space design optimization, LED lighting, to warehouse security and support in all permitting processes. From day one, we were able to focus on our business," says Henk Gerards, Chief Operating Officer for Contract Logistics, Geodis Rotterdam.
