Rohlig Suus Logistics prefers Outstanding to Excellent
Rohlig Suus will be the main tenant at MDC2 Park Gliwice - projected to be the greenest and highest rated warehouse project in Poland in terms of "BREEAM New Construction Outstanding" certification.
MDC² Park Gliwice is located at the junction of the A4 and A1 highways in Gliwice, Upper Silesia.
Rohlig Suus Logistics has leased 20,393 sqm at MDC2 Park Gliwice, including 19,773 sqm of warehouse space and 420 sqm of office and staff space. The total area of the 3 warehouse buildings of the entire park will exceed 57,000 sqm.

"We chose MDC2 Park Gliwice for its location, but also for its very high score in the BREEAM New Construction certification. ESG issues are extremely important in SUUS' development strategy. We want our facilities to be "green", but also properly adapted to the needs of employees or drivers, which also has an impact on providing our customers with the highest quality of service"- explains Sylwester Wzorek, Senior Facility Manager at Rohlig Suus Logistics.
"Year after year, we are seeing more and more development in the Silesian region, which is why we decided to build a new larger warehouse in MDC² Park Gliwice. The location of the facility, at the intersection of transportation routes - A1 and A4 highways - is also extremely important to us," says Grzegorz Łukaszek, Branch Director Katowice at Rohlig Suus Logistics. "This investment will significantly increase our operational capacity, which will allow us to improve our services, which we direct in the region to, among others, customers from the automotive industry," he adds.
The Gliwice development features a Rest & Move zone - an innovative concept in the Polish market for warehouse park surroundings that promotes a healthy lifestyle and improves working conditions for all users of the developer's warehouse facilities. Elements proposed to its recipients include a gym realized in cooperation with the "TruckersLife" foundation and a multifunctional sports field, as well as rest areas including barbecue ovens.
"The lease area will include a social area dedicated to Rohlig Suus Logistics visitors. This is unique in the Polish market, which, with the development of ESG policies in the industry, is gaining more and more importance especially with regard to the professional group of truck drivers. It is in the interest of all those involved in logistics processes to take care of their well-being. In a similar concept, MDC2 is preparing the surroundings of the entire complex. To this end, a special Rest&Move zone will be created, and a gym - as part of a partnership with the TruckersLife Foundation - a multisport field and rest areas will be launched. The idea behind the Rest&Move project is to promote a healthy lifestyle and improve working conditions for everyone using the developer's warehouse facility," says Katarzyna Dudzik, Development Director at MDC2.
MDC2 Park Gliwice is being developed taking into account the guidelines of BREEAM New Construction certification at the Outstanding level. Such a high rating is possible thanks to a number of solutions that increase the energy efficiency of the buildings, as well as a thoughtfully designed environment rich in biodiversity and prepared with the well-being of employees in mind.
Rohlig Suus will start its operations at MDC2 Park Gliwice this fall.
