Panattoni has completed a BTS investment for Solaris Bus & Coach in Bolechowo. A 10,000 sqm warehouse facility was built in the vicinity of the existing factory and plays a key role in the supply chain of parts and components for the production of Solaris vehicles. The buildings have been connected in terms of road infrastructure and utilities, and additionally, Panattoni reinforced the roof structure and installed photovoltaic cells with a capacity of 260 kWp.
Solaris is a European leader in the production of city buses, particularly with low- and zero-emission drives. Its vehicles are present in 32 countries and the company is constantly investing in further development. This time, Solaris invested in a new warehouse hall. The facility completed by Panattoni in Bolechowo near Poznań has an area of 10,000 sqm. The building was connected to the company's factory located 150 meters away in terms of road infrastructure and utilities. The facility will store parts intended for the production of vehicles in the adjacent hall, and the investment itself will play a key role in the supply chain of parts and components for the production of buses and trolleybuses.
"The handover of the investment in Bolechowo is another effective project supporting our client's factory, perfectly fitting into its processes and constituting an important facility for the company's growing production. We are pleased that the cooperation with Solaris Bus & Coach went so fruitfully and, despite changes in the concept during implementation, we managed to deliver the facility in a very good time" – says
Marek Foryński, BTS Managing Director at Panattoni."An additional advantage of Panattoni in this project is our experience in implementing green solutions that reduce the negative impact of the investment on the environment. Solaris is constantly introducing ecological vehicles to its fleet, and cooperation with us also allows for a significant increase in the resources of green energy generated within the facilities." – adds
Michał Chodecki, BTS Development Director at Panattoni. While building the warehouse facility for Solaris, Panattoni reinforced the roof, on which 572 photovoltaic cells with a total capacity of 260.3 kWp were installed, and the layout of the panels was adapted to the distribution of smoke vents and skylights. Furthermore, charging stations with a capacity of 80 kWp were installed on the premises. There are also plans to equip, among others, the receiving hall and the new service facility with photovoltaic systems. Panattoni is also implementing the concept of covering passenger car parking lots with shelters equipped with photovoltaic cells.
Within the total area of 10,100 sqm, as much as 2,250 sqm is occupied by modern social and office rooms, properly examined in terms of airflow, acoustics, and access to daylight. Moreover, in this part, as well as in the warehouse part, the developer implemented advanced solutions for smoke detection. In the area of multi-level warehouse platforms, it expanded the comfort ventilation, smoke extraction system, and additional levels of the sprinkler installation. Panattoni also adjusted the placement of lighting and the number and layout of internal hydrants to the racking system. The investment will undergo BREEAM certification.
Both the BTS facility prepared by Panattoni and the existing plant are located in a strategic location, approx. 8 km from the borders of Poznań and 20 km from its center. Furthermore, the A2 motorway connecting, among others, Berlin, Łódź, and Warsaw runs 25 km from the buildings, and the S11 expressway, which will ultimately connect Katowice in the south with Koszalin on the Baltic coast, runs just over 20 km away.
