GLP prepares to expand logistics park near Wroclaw, Poland
- Business development in continental Europe is very important to us, and investments such as this one will provide our customers with top-level service. We will be much closer to them, reducing delivery times by up to two days," comments Juan Carlos Bonell, CEO of Static Control.
GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre buildings are equipped with energy-saving solutions like smart metering, LED lighting and photovoltaic panels. An important feature of the project is the biodiverse surroundings, both in the form of old-growth trees and rich new plantings. Employees can enjoy carefully designed relaxation areas with gazebos, benches and greenery. There are also bicycle shelters next to the buildings, as well as charging stations for electric cars and e-bikes.
- The development of the park with more buildings used by e-commerce leaders, among others, is in a way a continuation of the tradition of this location, which was already an important center of crafts and trade two thousand years ago, as documented by the archaeological research we conducted prior to the project, says Michal Szczepaniak, Business Development Manager of GLP.
The 50-hectare GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre site is being developed with a target of nearly 240,000 of warehouse and production space. Construction of another 66,000 is planned later this year.
