The commissioning of a park in Choroszcz, Bialystok district, strengthens Accolade's position as the largest investor in modern infrastructure in the Podlaskie region. The Czech investor made its debut in the region in 2018, investing in an industrial park in Bialystok. It currently owns facilities in Podlasie with a total area of around 80,000 sqm. Both Park Bialystok I and the nearby Park Bialystok II in Choroszcz remain fully leased. The company is also meeting its ESG targets here. All parks in Accolade's portfolio are certified to the BREEAM standard. The Bialystok park has gained recognition for its mural, initiating the emergence of art in industrial parks in Poland.
"Bialystok, the largest city in northeastern Poland and the capital of Podlaskie Voivodeship, is the youngest location on the country's warehouse map - We were the first to invest in modern warehouse infrastructure in the area. Our two parks remain fully leased, we are extending contracts with tenants who are increasingly eager to increase the space they occupy." - said Jarek Wnuk, Managing Director of Accolade in Poland. "There are several reasons for the rapid development of Podlasie, but the key ones include qualified staff and the availability of investment areas." - Wnuk added.
Accolade's investment in the region's industrial parks has enabled the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs. Employees of the warehouses here benefit from easy commuting, as Park Bialystok I is located within the city limits, while Park Bialystok II is only 10 km away. Such topography also contributes to more efficient customer service for our tenants. Companies such as Pilkington, Stokrotka, Rohlig Suus, Glosel, ILS and Agata Meble can easily provide services to retail customers. Warehouse space is leased by companies from the logistics, manufacturing, e-commerce sectors, both international brands and rapidly growing local companies.
Bialystok is a special place for Accolade. It was here in 2021 that the first project completed as part of Accolade Industrial Art, a program that brings art to industrial spaces. The design of the mural was selected through a competition, with the participation of the park's tenants, and its execution was entrusted to students from the Bialystok University of Technology, who collaborated with the author of the concept. The mural illustrates Accolade's values of caring for the environment, people and animals, and creating friendly workplaces.
Park Bialystok II consists of two buildings with a total area of over 36,700 sqm. Both facilities in Bialystok, like the other warehouses in the company's portfolio, are BREEAM-certified. They have been prepared with concern for the environment and employees. Accolade has equipped them with a variety of features, such as electro-waste bins, outdoor defibrillators, insect boxes, rain gardens, and benches and tables made from recycled clothing composite materials.
Podlaskie, known as the "EU's gateway to the east," is a region with enormous potential. The Rail Baltica, part of the Trans-European Transport Corridor connecting Warsaw, Kaunas, Riga, Tallinn and Helsinki, is planned to run through Bialystok. Once the modernization of this route is completed, train travel time between Bialystok and Warsaw will be just 74 minutes. In addition, the Via Carpatia road route, which partially overlaps with the S19 and S8 roads, will be an important artery between Southern European countries and Scandinavia in the future. Bialystok is also home to 15 universities and colleges, with more than 30,000 students, guaranteeing access to an educated workforce.
