Prologis Essentials Europe - warehouse solutions that drive business growth

Prologis announces the launch of its new Essentials platform in Europe, providing end-to-end logistics and efficiency solutions in the areas of operations, energy and sustainability, electromobility and staffing solutions.

The first of its kind in the industry, the platform addresses some of the most critical challenges in global logistics, enabling warehouse operators around the world to focus on growing their business from day one.

Essentials' four categories of solutions

Essentials Operations provides end-to-end support for all warehouse operations in a sustainable manner, at any time, including at the end of the lease term. Solutions include a wide range of racking systems, order picking equipment, forklifts, communications and IT sytems, and automation solutions. In addition to purchase and lease options, Operations Essentials also includes repurchase programs and financing options - another industry innovation, allowing customers to recoup costs when they need it most.

"We pay attention to what our customers are saying. Regardless of the size of the company, running the business along with managing daily warehouse operations (especially during relocations) is a challenge. We eliminate this problem by offering our high standard of service at every stage of the relationship, leveraging our scale, access and global expertise," says Mark Zulver, Senior Vice President, Head of Essentials, Prologis Europe.

Essentials' energy and sustainability translates into savings for customers through solar energy programs such as SolarSmart and StorageSmart. These are solutions that meet customers' carbon reduction goals, as well as having an impact on warehouse efficiency - such as heat pumps and electric vehicle charging for equipment and fleets. Prologis is working to equip its global portfolio with solar panels - the company currently produces and stores 450 MW of solar energy.

Electromobility Essentials enables customers to quickly and seamlessly energy transition their fleets to zero-emission vehicles and optimized logistics. The service offers on-site charging and fleet electrification for all companies, regardless of size.

Workforce Essentials is a program that supports customers with recruitment, talent retention and productivity solutions through certification, smart logistics and safety equipment, as well as upskilling training (available in select countries, coming soon to all of Europe).

Key benefits

The Essentials platform provides a comprehensive approach to your day-to-day warehouse needs, whether you use a Prologis building or not. Built on excellent customer service, solutions are designed to avoid disruption and eliminate common pain points - including the maintenance mindset that Prologis offers. Flexible and forward-thinking solutions are implemented on time, within budget and according to customer needs.

Prologis Essentails

"We needed more space for our operations, and due to challenges in the real estate market, finding new - and better in terms of location - available space in a logistics hotspot in Rotterdam was almost impossible. Thijs Fleers and the entire Prologis Essentials team came up with a solution that exceeded our expectations; they listened to our needs. Today we are still in our existing building, but it feels like a completely new space!  We gained a multi-level mezzanine, which tripled our existing warehouse space. Prologis Essentials handled the project from start to finish - from providing the warehouse space and equipment, optimizing the space design, LED lighting, to warehouse security and supporting all permitting processes. From day one, we were able to focus on our business," says Henk Gerards, Operations Director for Contract Logistics, Geodis Rotterdam.
