Rohlig SUUS Logistics strengthens its position on the Czech market

Rohlig SUUS Logistics, a leading logistics operator in CEE, is strengthening its position in the Czech Republic with a new investment. In response to growing demand for comprehensive logistics services in the local market, as well as in other CEE countries, the company is expanding its warehouse space in Brno to 12,500 square metres, an increase of around 50%. In the region, SUUS is also betting on the development of road, sea and air freight forwarding.

The new investment, located at GLP Park Brno Holubice, is a modern logistics warehouse with a cross-dock terminal of 4,200 square metres. This is Rohlig SUUS Logistics' second facility at this location. The previous one, which was also the Polish operator's first foreign warehouse, was opened in Q4 2022. The new investment is also another significant development for SUUS on the Czech market. In June, the company fully acquired Joppa Logistics, which specialises in warehousing services and general road transport. With this acquisition, Rohlig SUUS Logistics has doubled its market share in the Czech Republic. The logistics operator currently employs more than 150 people in the country.- We want to be a key player in Central and Eastern Europe. Developing services in the Czech market is a natural step in our strategy. The Czech Republic is particularly important for us - the first foreign branch in Central and Eastern Europe, the first foreign warehouse and the first foreign acquisition. We are also focusing here on the development of road transport, through cooperation with other SUUS branches in the CEE region, as well as global forwarding services in cooperation with the Röhlig network," says Artur Malarski, Board Member of Rohlig SUUS Logistics responsible for the company's development in the CEE region.

- The position of the Czech Republic as an important logistics centre is constantly growing. The Czech Republic is also Poland's second key partner in terms of exports and goods turnover. The branch in Brno increases our operational capabilities and allows us to expand our range of services, which will have a significant impact on the future development of our network of international and domestic groupage transport and contract logistics in the region," said Jiri Chladek, Managing Director of Rohlig SUUS Logistics for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Rohlig SUUS Logistics provides a wide range of logistics services on the Czech market, including road, air, sea or rail freight forwarding and 4PL. The new investment in Brno expands the company's portfolio with comprehensive contract logistics services, such as fulfillment (dedicated to e-commerce customers) or value-added services (including co-packing and labelling), general cargo handling and distribution to the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries, as well as a temporary storage warehouse. The facility is located close to the D1 motorway, providing connections to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria.

Each of Rohlig SUUS Logistics' new warehouse facilities meets the highest environmental standards and is BREEAM certified. The Brno warehouses are managed using an advanced WMS system from Blue Yonder and have an A+ rating. Photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roofs of the facilities. There is a special rainwater harvesting system that allows rainwater to be reused. Chargers for electric cars have also been made available on site. In addition, the company has introduced forklifts with lithium-ion batteries instead of acid batteries, which significantly increases employee safety and has a positive impact on the environment.
