Paczkomaty® Factory at Panattoni City Logistics Kraków Airport

Panattoni will provide space dedicated to the production of InPost Paczkomaty® and expand the company's research and development center. The Paczkomaty® factory will be built as part of the newly created City Logistics Kraków Airport park, will occupy a total of 7230 sq m and will be equipped with photovoltaic panels. The Panattoni urban park with an area of 12,500 sq m is a strategic investment by the developer in the Małopolska region with SBU modules and a response to the growing demand for industrial space in the vicinity of Kraków. The new park will be built right next to the Balice II A4 junction and will be available as early as this summer. The entire investment will be subject to BREEAM certification with a Very Good rating.

InPost has leased 7230 sq m (production: 5800 sq m; offices: 1432 sq m) at City Logistics Kraków Airport. Thanks to this, InPost will increase the efficiency of production processes while guaranteeing a convenient workplace location for the staff and will increase employment. At City Logistics Kraków Airport - in addition to the production of Paczkomaty® (including electrical assembly of modules with touch screens) - a research and development center with two laboratories and a showroom will be expanded. Development work and tests of new solutions will be carried out there.

The realization of the production facility for InPost as part of the Panattoni park is another collaboration between the two companies – so far, the logistics operator has leased a total of 250,000 sq m, of which over 9,000 sq m in another Kraków park dedicated to urban logistics - City Logistics Kraków I. „Once again, we are announcing an investment in Kraków that fits into the last mile, and additionally will be located next to the airport. Therefore, it is worth emphasizing the importance of the park, if only because of the difficult market in the heart of the Małopolska region” - comments Robert Dobrzycki, CEO of Panattoni”Kraków is characterized by a limited supply of land, resulting in relatively high prices, and as the second largest city in Poland in terms of area and number of inhabitants, it should have its own warehouse facilities. Therefore, I am convinced that City Logistics Kraków Airport will allow many entities to spread their wings”. This will happen, among other things, due to the Small Business Units formula available within City Logistics Kraków Airport. Modules with a minimum area of 1200 sq m will be available as early as July 2021.

The number of Paczkomaty® in Poland has already increased to over 11,000 devices, more than doubling the number of Poczta Polska's own branches. According to a Gemius report from March 2020, 61% of online shoppers declare that Paczkomaty® are the most frequently chosen form of delivery. „The expansion of our infrastructure is not just new Paczkomaty® locations – and we want to grow the network by 100 machines per week this year. Alongside new sorting plants and logistics centers as well as investments in IT – our priority is to strengthen our position as a leading machine manufacturer in Europe. Thanks to this, we can quickly introduce new, innovative solutions in our machines and be the first to test ideas that no one has yet applied on the market. We have patented most of the innovative elements used in our Paczkomaty® – which gives us additional development opportunities. Now we are also launching a research and development center together with a laboratory to develop further innovations”. - comments Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.

City Logistics Kraków Airport, like all newly emerging Panattoni investments within its own park portfolio, will undergo the BREEAM certification process at the Very Good level. Green spaces and relaxation zones as well as bicycle infrastructure will be created around the building's glazed offices, and the vegetation will be adapted to local weather conditions. The space dedicated to InPost will be equipped with a photovoltaic installation, and the company's employees will have increased access to daylight not only thanks to additional skylights in the roof, but also side facade lighting.

The latest Panattoni investment within the City Logistics concept is 12,500 sq m of modern warehouse space. The park is located in Cholerzyn, in the vicinity of the only Kraków airport located in Balice, right next to the Balice II A4 junction, on the side of the entrance to the motorway towards Katowice. Near City Logistics Kraków Airport there are industrial facilities, and the park's tenants will appreciate the access to road infrastructure – convenient access to both the city and the A4 motorway, which constitutes the Kraków bypass.
