Panattoni has begun construction on a new industrial park in Będzin. The first stage of the work has already been launched and is to be completed in September. It will comprise a 27,500 sqm building constructed on a speculative basis. The total area of the park is to come to 87,500 sqm.
Panattoni Park Będzin is being developed in response to the rapidly rising need for new industrial space in the region. The first stage of the development is being built to accommodate a wide range of uses, from logistics and light production to e-commerce. The building has been designed to allow for possible cross-dock operations, which makes it attractive to a wide variety of businesses.
“The decision to build in Będzin was taken because of the success of our neighbouring developments in Czeladź and Sosnowiec. This has demonstrated the huge potential of the market in the region as well as our further commitment to further development," comments Marek Dobrzycki, the Managing Director of Panattoni. The developer has already developed numerous industrial centres in Gliwice, Sosnowiec, Katowice, Mysłowice, Bielsko-Biała, Ruda Śląska and Czeladź having delivered an area of over 2.6 mln sqm across the Silesia region. Currently, a further 207,000 sqm remain under construction.
“Investors appreciate the Silesia region for its access to a highly qualified labour pool and its well developed transport infrastructure, which connects the region with the major cities of the country and of Central Europe. Other advantages also include its rapid social development and a research and development base that includes numerous colleges and research institutions that further innovation as well as the development of new technologies. This is where new projects shape the future of sectors such as e-commerce, the automotive industry and IT and this attracts talent from throughout the country and from abroad. These, as well as other factors, mean that we have here a region with unique investment opportunities that combines traditional industry with a modern approach to business, innovation and sustainability. As a result, the region continues to play a key role as an economic hub of both Poland and Europe,” adds Marek Dobrzycki.
Panattoni Park Będzin is to undergo BREEAM certification for a rating of Excellent. The roofs of the buildings are to be reinforced ready for the installation of solar panels. A wide range of ecologically-friendly solutions will result in energy and water usage being limited which will, as a result, lower running costs for the tenants. The developer will provide many different facilities for the worker including modern office space, a green relaxation area, facilities for cyclists and electric vehicle charging stations. Panattoni will also take care of the site’s biodiversity.
