An even larger warehouse right by the motorwayThe new facility will replace the previous warehouse currently operating in Tyniec Mały near Wrocław, which will cease operations after its planned five-year term. The warehouse located in Kąty Wrocławskie will be built in the immediate vicinity of the A4 motorway and will be opened in two stages. At the beginning of 2025, the freezer and automated cold storage areas will be launched, followed by the dry zone, which means transferring operations from the warehouse in Tyniec Mały. It is worth emphasizing that the facility in Kąty Wrocławskie will be another semi-automated Logistics Center, where order picking in the cold storage area will be automated.
– Efficient logistics has always been the driving force of Grupa Żabka. Thanks to the launch of the logistics center in Kąty Wrocławskie, we will further strengthen our logistics structure, ensuring comprehensive delivery service to over 10,900 stores in our chain. Importantly, in the new location, we are providing jobs for all employees of our logistics center in Tyniec Mały. We are pleased that expanding operations in a new location, as well as introducing automation, is an excellent opportunity and development prospect for our employees. At the same time, we are increasing the number of jobs, which is why we have opened new recruitment processes for warehouse and specialist positions. We cordially invite you to take part in them and join the Żabka Team! – says Katarzyna Słabowska, Logistics Director at Żabka Polska.
The area of the new logistics center will be 35,000 sqm, which means it will be 1.5 times larger than the area of the current warehouse. The new facility in Kąty Wrocławskie, in line with the company's philosophy, is also being built with potential for expansion, which means that it will ultimately be possible to expand it by another 6,500 sqm. Initially, the center will supply approximately 1,500 stores in the Wrocław region. The new warehouse will also partially relieve the logistics center in Komorniki, as it is to Kąty Wrocławskie that the picking of refrigerated and frozen orders for stores in the Wrocław region will be moved.
The semi-automated logistics center will use the best modern solutions proven in other Żabka logistics centers. Furthermore, the new facility will feature a number of pro-environmental innovations, such as a photovoltaic installation on the building's roof and chargers for electric cars.
