Accolade strengthens its presence in the Podlaskie region

The commissioning of the park in Choroszcz, in the Białystok county, strengthens the position of Accolade as the largest investor in modern infrastructure in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The Czech investor debuted in this area in 2018, investing in an industrial park in Białystok. Currently, it owns facilities in the Podlaskie region with a total area of approximately 80,000 sqm. Both Park Białystok I and the nearby Park Białystok II in Choroszcz remain fully leased. The company is also implementing its ESG goals here. All parks in the Accolade portfolio are certified according to the BREEAM standard. The park in Białystok gained recognition thanks to a mural, initiating the appearance of art in industrial parks in Poland.

"Białystok, the largest city in north-eastern Poland and the capital of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, is the youngest location on the country's warehouse map - We were the first to invest in modern warehouse infrastructure in this area. Our two parks remain completely leased, we are extending contracts with tenants who are increasingly willing to increase the space they occupy." - said Jarek Wnuk, Managing Director of Accolade in Poland.  "There are several reasons for the rapid development of the Podlaskie region, but key among them are qualified staff and the availability of investment areas." – added Wnuk.

Accolade's investment in industrial parks in this region has enabled the creation of over 1,000 new jobs. Employees of the local warehouses benefit from easy commuting, as Park Białystok I is located within the city limits, and Park Białystok II is just 10 km away. Such topography also contributes to more efficient customer service by our tenants. Companies such as Pilkington, Stokrotka, Rohlig Suus, Glosel, ILS or Agata Meble can easily provide services to retail customers. Warehouse space is leased by companies from the logistics, manufacturing, and e-commerce sectors, including both international brands and dynamically developing local companies.

Białystok is a unique place for Accolade. It was here in 2021 that the first project implemented as part of Accolade Industrial Art was created, a program that introduces art into industrial spaces. The mural project was selected through a competition, with the participation of the park's tenants, and its execution was entrusted to students from the Białystok University of Technology, who collaborated with the author of the concept. The mural illustrates Accolade's values, which are care for the environment, people, and animals, and the creation of friendly workplaces.

Park Białystok II consists of two buildings with a total area of over 36,700 sqm. Both facilities in Białystok, like the other warehouses in the company's portfolio, have BREEAM certificates. They were prepared with care for the environment and employees. Accolade has equipped them with various elements, such as containers for electronic waste, external defibrillators, insect hotels, rain gardens, and benches and tables made of composite materials derived from recycled clothing.

Podlaskie, known as the "EU Gateway to the East", is a region with enormous potential. The route of the Rail Baltica railway line, which is part of the trans-European transport corridor connecting Warsaw, Kaunas, Riga, Tallinn, and Helsinki, is planned to run through Białystok. After the modernization of this route is completed, the train travel time between Białystok and Warsaw will be only 74 minutes.  Additionally, the Via Carpatia road route, which partially overlaps with the S19 and S8 roads, will in the future be an important artery between the countries of Southern Europe and Scandinavia. Białystok is also a place where 15 universities operate, with over 30,000 students, which guarantees access to educated staff.
