An outdoor gym will be built at MDC2 Park Lodz South

MDC² Park Lodz South is a modern warehouse park under construction, located at the junction of the A1 highway and National Road 12 in Gluchow near Lodz. The investment is financed by Fortress Real Estate Investments Limited (Fortress).

There are 600,000 people in Poland with professional driver's licenses. A significant part of this group is made up of truck drivers, delivering goods for storage, among other things. With the development of the warehousing market, thinking about truck drivers is changing, and there is a growing awareness of the importance of this professional group for the smooth functioning of the supply chain. The drivers themselves are an increasingly important group of interest for developers of warehouse and logistics facilities. With their health and safety in mind, new initiatives are being developed to improve working conditions. One of them is the organization of active recreation during a break in the journey. An ideal opportunity for this becomes unloading goods during a visit to a warehouse center.

MDC², together with the Truckers Life Foundation, is taking advantage of an opportunity to improve driver well-being for the second time. MDC² Park Lodz South will provide infrastructure to enable professional drivers to engage in physical activity that supports the prevention of many health problems. In cooperation with the foundation, a Rest & Move zone will be created at MDC² Park Łódź South for truck drivers. It is expected to include a sports zone, including a gym and multi-sport court, as well as a rest area with an outdoor barbecue area.

The developer of the Glukhov warehouse facility is MDC², and the owner and investor is Fortress Real Estate Investments Limited, a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and owner of a portfolio of commercial properties.

The welfare of truck drivers is an important part of the ESG policy implemented by Fortress and MDC². All activities related to the development of both companies are carried out on the foundation of this strategy. The idea behind the Rest & Move project is to promote healthy lifestyles and improve working conditions for both drivers and all those using our warehouse facilities. We care about the well-being of drivers, we believe that a healthy driver is a safe driver," says Adrian Winiarek, Development Director of MDC².

The Rest & Move zone will also feature rest areas surrounded by flower meadows guaranteeing biodiversity and better well-being. The developer's intention is to create an audience-friendly place, one where one can spend time pleasantly and improve fitness.

The Truckers Life Foundation is a non-profit organization operating in the road transport industry. It works for the health and safety of professional drivers. It helps them change their lifestyles for the better, including by building outdoor gyms.

- All activities aimed at improving the well-being of drivers deserve recognition. We are pleased that awareness of their importance in the storage industry is growing. Together with MDC², we are already launching the second such gym. For us, MDC²'s favor is very important, thanks to it we are creating a new perspective for this professional group. Drivers alone will not succeed in improving their working conditions, but a sustainable and responsible approach by a warehouse developer like MDC² and ours - a foundation that cares about their fate - can help. Together we can do much more," says Dagmara Trusewicz, president of the Truckers Life Foundation.
