Cornerstone laying for the factory in Żary

Panattoni and Valmet Automotive sp. z o.o. – a leading supplier for the automotive industry – have officially inaugurated the expansion of the factory in Żary. On January 21, the cornerstone was laid for the construction of a BTS (build-to-suit) facility with an area of 8,800 sqm.

The cornerstone laying ceremony was attended by: Remigiusz Grześkowiak – President of the Management Board of Valmet Automotive sp. z o.o., Hubert Hoffman – President of Commercecon and Maciej Zawada – Head of Business Development Panattoni BTS, representatives of local authorities: Edyta Gajda – Mayor of Żary and Wojciech Kasprów – Deputy District Administrator of Żary, as well as invited guests.

– „Thanks to the company's market successes to date, today we are opening a new chapter – we are officially starting the expansion of the factory in Żary, which will allow us to increase production capacity and strengthen our position on the European automotive market. The investment will ultimately contribute to the creation of as many as 350 new jobs” – says Remigiusz Grześkowiak, President of the Management Board of Valmet Automotive sp. z o.o.

The project carried out by Panattoni involves expanding the existing plant by an additional 8,800 sqm of production and logistics space, along with social and administrative facilities.

– „Modern production plants have already become a specialization of the BTS department at Panattoni. The expansion of the Valmet Automotive sp. z o.o. factory in Żary is another example of our strategy – we create tailor-made solutions for our partners that support their business development now and in the future” – says Maciej Zawada, Head of Business Development Panattoni BTS and adds: – „One of the key elements of this project is ensuring the flexibility of the new hall, which will allow it to be adapted to the needs of Valmet Automotive sp. z o.o. as they evolve. By carrying out the construction in parallel with ongoing production, we ensure that the process proceeds without disruption to the plant's current operations”.

Completion of construction work is planned for the spring of this year, and production in the new facility will start in the fourth quarter.

Valmet Automotive sp. z o.o. is a supplier of complete roof systems for convertibles and kinematic systems for the automotive industry, including active spoilers and charging port flaps for electric vehicles. The Żary factory will produce modern aerodynamic systems developed at the company's research center in Osnabrück, Germany. They contribute to increasing the range of electric vehicles and reducing fuel consumption in combustion engine cars.
