DHL eCommerce Polska is increasing the scale of its operations in two Hillwood parks. The operator has leased a total of over 20 thousand sqm. of warehouse and office space in Hillwood Zgierz I and Industrial Park Tychy, strengthening its facilities to serve the growing e-commerce parcel market.

New parcel handling center in Zgierz

As part of the first agreement, DHL eCommerce leased the entire building B in the Hillwood Zgierz I park. A new parcel handling center will be established in the facility, which will support the operator's domestic and international operations.

The conclusion of the agreement also marks the full commercialization of the entire complex. The location in central Poland provides convenient access to main transport routes and facilitates the service of large consumer markets.

Modernization of the warehouse in Tychy

The second agreement concerns the space used by DHL eCommerce in Industrial Park Tychy. The facility will be modernized and adapted to the company's current operational needs.

The works are intended to increase the functionality of the warehouse and prepare it for new technical and environmental requirements. The project shows that operators are increasingly deciding not only to lease new facilities, but also to modernize existing infrastructure.

Flexibility increasingly important for tenants

Both transactions reflect the changes taking place in the warehouse market. For logistics companies, it is no longer just the location and size of the facility that matter, but also the ability to quickly adapt the space to changing processes.

The key factors include, among others:

  • efficient organization of transshipments,
  • the ability to increase throughput,
  • adaptation of space for automation,
  • energy efficiency of the facility,
  • flexible terms of cooperation with the owner.

DHL develops its network for e-commerce

DHL eCommerce Polska specializes in handling parcels for online retail. The company supports sellers carrying out domestic and foreign deliveries, developing both logistics centers and a network of collection points.

The operator has nearly 24 thousand out-of-home locations in Poland, including parcel lockers, shops, and partner points. Across Europe, the DHL network consists of over 165 thousand such points.

Zgierz and Tychy strengthen their position in the operator's network

The new agreements will allow DHL to increase the efficiency of operations in central and southern Poland. Zgierz provides convenient access to the national distribution network, while Tychy supports the service of Upper Silesia and Central European markets.

A total of over 20 thousand sqm. of additional and modernized space is to help the operator respond to the further increase in the number of parcels generated by online retail.
