DPD moves into the LCube Szczecin Goleniów logistics park

LCube Logistic Park Szczecin Goleniów has gained a new tenant. One of the leading courier companies – DPD Polska Sp. z o.o. – has decided to occupy 2,500 sqm of warehouse and office space in this modern logistics center, whose advantage is its excellent location in the town of Łozienica, within the Goleniów Industrial Park.

DPD Polska is part of DPDgroup, one of the largest international courier networks in Europe. The company provides top-quality services to parcel senders and recipients, and also strives for delivery neutrality. More than 9,000 couriers cooperate with it. The company has a network of 12,250 DPD Pickup points. The achievement of sustainable development goals is supported by a new logistics model introduced over 3 years ago, which involves the decentralization of operational processes and the inclusion of low- and zero-emission vehicles in service. The company closed last year with a total of nearly 300 electric courier vans and 60 cargo delivery bikes.  New offices and warehouses are built to the BREEAM standard, just like the park in Goleniów, or in accordance with energy efficiency standards, and photovoltaic installations with a total installed capacity of approx. 460 kW have been built in many locations. DPD Polska also has a network of 160 charging stations with over 270 ports, including a pioneering charging hub at one of its branches in Warsaw.

„Due to the proximity of Germany and Scandinavia, extensive road infrastructure, and the proximity of the seaport, LCube Logistic Park Szczecin Goleniów creates great opportunities for business development, enjoying huge interest primarily from logistics and manufacturing companies, as well as the e-commerce sector. A perfect example of utilizing this location is precisely the long-term agreement with DPD Polska” – says Michał Stachura, Board Member, Head of Finance at LCube.

Construction work at LCube Logistic Park Szczecin Goleniów began in mid-July 2022. The investment is located in the town of Łozienica, within the Goleniów Industrial Park, in the immediate vicinity of the S3 and S6 expressways and the A6 motorway leading to Berlin. The park's comfortable location allows tenants not only fast distribution of goods to the Polish market, but also to Scandinavia, Germany, and further West.

The park in Goleniów offers tenants 10,815 sqm of modern warehouse space and 1,423 sqm of office space. The entire project is being implemented to the highest fire resistance standard, above 4000 MJ. Energy-efficient LED lighting has been installed inside and outside the buildings. LCube Logistic Park Szczecin Goleniów has also been designed in accordance with BREEAM certification criteria. The investment has also been equipped with Sense S-One measuring systems, which monitor the deflection of flat roofs due to increased load, which significantly increases safety, comfort of using the property, and extends the durability of the structure by preventing the exceeding of so-called limit states. The supplier of the solution is the company Sense Monitoring.

„The warehouse market in Szczecin and the surrounding area has been growing for several years, becoming an important hub on the logistics map of Poland and Europe. In 2022, the total volume of available modern warehouse space in the region exceeded 1 million sqm. Thanks to its unique location and still good access to qualified workers, Szczecin is also one of the locations that will undoubtedly benefit from the nearshoring trend, i.e., moving part of production and warehouses to Europe, closer to the final consumer” – adds Michał Stachura.

In December 2022, Lcube announced the sale of the company that owns the plot along with the investment project involving the Goleniów Park. The buyer was a fund managed by IPOPEMA Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A. The agreement on further cooperation between the investor and the developer provides that LCube will continue to be responsible for the implementation and commercialization of the project. The new warehouse was delivered to the market in January of this year.
