DSV launched a new distribution center in Krzyżowice near Wrocław. In a record time of three months, the operator prepared a hub handling cross-border operations for almost all of Europe and key marketplace and e-commerce platforms.

45 thousand sqm for European logistics

In the new facility, DSV currently has 45 thousand sqm of space, of which:

  • 24 thousand sqm are dedicated to comprehensive 3PL operations,
  • the center serves a client from the household appliances sector,
  • the daily flow is from 1500 to 2000 pallets.

The warehouse serves as one of the key European logistics centers for the client. The facility receives, among others, sea containers, and the team is responsible for:

  • unloading and sorting of goods,
  • warehousing,
  • picking,
  • coordinating shipments to recipients across Europe,
  • handling marketplace and e-commerce operators.

Goods are shipped to, among others:

  • Scandinavia,
  • Germany,
  • Austria,
  • Benelux countries,
  • France,
  • Italy,
  • Spain.

Modern technologies increase efficiency

The facility stands out with advanced warehouse solutions, rarely seen even on a European scale.

DSV implemented:

  • VNA double deep forklifts with double forks,
  • double-layer racks,
  • digital forklift traffic control systems,
  • proprietary extensions of the WMS system.

Thanks to double deep technology and reducing aisle width to 1.9 m:

  • storage density was increased by 20–30%,
  • the risk of operator collisions was reduced,
  • warehouse work efficiency was improved.

The implemented solutions also included:

  • automatic allocation of picking tasks,
  • remote prioritization of operations,
  • the „follow the leader” mechanism,
  • a new „double play” module, reducing empty forklift runs.

Krzyżowice grows together with DSV

Currently, the center handles about 30 thousand pallet places, and ultimately this number will increase to 45 thousand.

DSV is also conducting talks regarding the expansion of served European markets, which is expected to further increase the scale of operations.

By the end of 2026, the operator will take over the management of over 60 thousand sqm of space within the Wrocław Campus 2 project.

Western Poland attracts logistics for all of Europe

The location near:

  • the A4 motorway,
  • the A8 Wrocław Motorway Bypass,
  • and about 20 km from the center of Wrocław

makes the region an increasingly important logistics hub for companies handling European supply chains.

Modern infrastructure and access to international transport routes particularly attract companies from the following industries:

  • automotive,
  • consumer electronics,
  • household appliances,
  • manufacturing,
  • e-commerce and marketplace.
