MLP Group – Green Industrial Developer - has published its ESG strategy. The developer intends to set the highest ecological standards in the logistics and industrial real estate industry. Respect for nature and care for the natural environment is the foundation of the activities of the Group, which is developing a network of modern logistics and urban parks on the Polish, German, Austrian and Romanian markets. The goal of MLP Group is to achieve climate neutrality by 2026.

MLP Group builds facilities that are not only environmentally friendly, but also ensure comfort for their users. The developer systematically introduces eco-solutions to its parks. The presented ESG action strategy is an expression of the great importance the Management Board of MLP Group attaches to sustainable development.

In our facilities, we use the latest technological solutions, contributing to the protection of our planet. The logistics parks handed over to tenants for use are a work environment for hundreds, and even thousands of employees. That is why we care very much that it is a friendly environment, also thanks to the use of ecological solutions and caring for nature. We are happy to plant and nurture trees in our logistics parks, and we allocate a significant percentage of the area to green spaces. In the published ESG strategy, we have included all key directions of action and main tasks to be implemented, thanks to which we want to achieve zero emissions. We are focusing on our goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2026. This is also very important for our tenants, for whom environmental protection is often also a significant challenge, and at the same time, among other things, thanks to the use of renewable energy, they achieve real financial benefits – said Tomasz Zabost, Member of the Management Board of MLP Group S.A.

The main goal of MLP Group is to limit the company's negative impact on the natural environment and achieve climate neutrality by 2026. The tasks that are to lead the company to this goal include, above all: reducing electricity and heat consumption and a gradual increase in the use of renewable energy sources in MLP Group facilities. As a result, the emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere will be reduced. The company emphasizes the use of environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials.

A strategic task of MLP Group is the development of photovoltaic installations. In 2021, MLP Group began the construction of PV installations in its logistics parks. MLP Group will implement PV installations with a capacity of approx. 9 MW. The effect will be a reduction in energy consumption by approx. 9,000 MWh/year and a reduction in CO2 emissions by 6,380 t/year. In all logistics parks located in Poland, starting from 2022, all purchased electricity comes from renewable energy sources, which are certified by guarantees of origin. The green energy purchasing policy will be continued in the following years.

In accordance with the Group's standard, all new investments are mandatorily covered by BREEAM certification at the Excellent or Very Good level, and in the German and Austrian markets by DGNB Gold or Platinum certification. In this way, sustainable development indicators covering a range of environmental issues are analyzed. The MLP Group strategy regarding ecological solutions also assumes adapting existing facilities to the requirements of green certificates. The goal is for the entire real estate portfolio to be covered by certification in the future.

Buildings are equipped with devices that prevent excessive water consumption. Rainwater tanks are installed. MLP Group carries out activities in the field of biodiversity through, among other things, planting trees, creating flower meadows, setting up insect houses, and creating green areas. It also encourages cycling by building bicycle shelters. There is a plan to sort and recycle waste in all logistics parks by launching a „zero waste” program.

MLP Group wants to raise ecological awareness among local communities. To set an example in the area of ESG that will be followed by others. Among the activities carried out is, among others, volunteering. The Group is involved in the Szlachetna Paczka program, supports the Poland Business Run foundation, and takes part in various charitable campaigns.

MLP Group adheres to an equal opportunities policy, which ensures equal opportunities in the recruitment and employment process. In accordance with the principles contained in this policy, hiring, evaluating and promoting company employees can take place solely on the basis of such criteria as: individual competence, experience and effectiveness.

Our main goal is to meet customer expectations. We offer modern, high-quality warehouse space, fully adapted to the individual needs of our tenants. We cooperate with clients at every stage of the process of creating a logistics park, starting from the location decision, through design work, obtaining permits, construction and commercialization, to property management. We act in accordance with our code of ethics and principles of corporate governance, and the fundamental value on which we rely is partnership – emphasized Tomasz Zabost. MLP Group has also implemented, among other things, procedures for reporting violations of the law, including a whistleblowing mechanism.
