FedEx invests in a warehouse and offices in Gdańsk

FedEx Express continues its investment program in Central and Eastern Europe by opening a new facility in Gdańsk.

The strategic location of the Gdańsk facility, along with easy access to both an extensive road network and the global FedEx air network, enables companies operating in the region to access new markets and expand into further ones, both domestic and international, in Europe and worldwide.

The location employs 60 people, and the facility itself covers an area of over 9,000 sqm. It consists of an office and a warehouse equipped with high-class storage solutions dedicated to courier operations: an innovative sorting system can handle up to 4,500 packages per hour, it has 159 gates for courier vehicles and 10 gates for heavy-duty vehicles. One part of the warehouse was designed to handle standard shipments, while the other handles larger freight shipments.

- Our investment in Gdańsk is a perfect example of how we respond to the needs of our customers and development opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe. We are not only opening a modern warehouse facility, but we are also adding a new flight point from the Lech Wałęsa Airport in Gdańsk to our network, thus connecting the region with the world's largest cargo air network offered by FedEx – said Mariusz Mik, Vice President Ground Operations Eastern Europe, FedEx Express.

- Our goal is to be the right partner for local businesses on their path to development - he added.
