Fiege in a 7R warehouse in Goleniów
7R has built a warehouse in Goleniów for Fiege, a leading European logistics operator. The facility was created in a build-to-suit formula. On an area of almost 62,500 sqm, Fiege has been operating an international distribution center for a well-known global e-commerce giant since the end of March 2022.
Fiege, specializing in effective supply chain logistics solutions, opted for a modern warehouse in Goleniów near Szczecin. This is already the 14th location for Fiege in Poland.
The investment was built in the Goleniów Industrial Park. The BTS project prepared by 7R for FIEGE consists of both a warehouse part and an office part (3,100 sqm).
The facility was designed in accordance with the latest technologies and strict fire safety standards according to FM Global standards, and from an environmental perspective, according to BREEAM Excellent certification requirements.
Due to the increasing needs of one of its key clients, a German mail-order online store, which is a global e-commerce giant, Fiege, specializing in effective supply chain logistics solutions, opted for a modern warehouse in Goleniów near Szczecin. This is already the 14th location for Fiege in Poland.
- The choice of this location was dictated mainly by two factors. Firstly: an analysis of the client's business model, which resulted in the designation of an area optimal for the client's cargo flows. Secondly: the possibility of obtaining synergy effects with already existing operations. Goleniów perfectly met both of the above criteria - explains Piotr Kohmann, CEO of Fiege.
The investment was built in the Goleniów Industrial Park. The BTS project prepared by 7R for FIEGE consists of both a warehouse part and an office part (3,100 sqm). The facility is automated and equipped with a multi-level picktower mezzanine, which significantly increases Fiege's operational efficiency. The storage height in the main part of the building will be increased to 12.2 m clear height, while in the receiving and shipping zones it will be 11.7 m. The facility was designed in accordance with the latest technologies and strict fire safety standards according to FM Global standards, and from an environmental perspective, according to BREEAM Excellent certification requirements.
- We are pleased to acquire another prestigious client, which is the global logistics operator Fiege. We designed the building from a technical point of view in close cooperation with the client in such a way as to enable the installation of modern technological solutions related to the automation of logistics processes. As a developer, we have the appropriate know-how and experience in building specialized warehouses adapted to the requirements of any type of activity, providing clients with space that meets the highest technical and quality standards - explains Karol Górnicki, Leasing Director at 7R.
Fiege and 7R ensured that the building handling logistics processes was environmentally friendly, as well as comfortable for the employees working there. The roof will be covered by a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 50 KWp. The energy efficiency of the facility is also positively influenced by the use of destratifiers to equalize air temperature in the hall and LED lighting with a DALI system. Outside, there will be: a recreational zone for employees, flower meadows, bird and insect houses, as well as electric car charging stations. Rainwater will be used to water green areas. The general contractor for the construction works is Goldbeck. The conceptual design of the facility was created by the 7R architecture department, while the entire investment is being implemented in a design-build formula by the general contractor.
