FM Logistic has completed the expansion of its logistics platform for the pharmaceutical industry
At the beginning of 2022, FM Logistic completed the expansion of its platform in Błonie near Warsaw. The new module is dedicated to the operator's largest client from the pharmaceutical industry – Polpharma. Ultimately, the entire facility covers nearly 85,000 sqm, has over 100,000 pallet spaces, and is the largest distribution center for the pharmaceutical sector in Central Europe. The operator will locate subsequent clients from this industry at its new platform in Wiskitki between Warsaw and Łódź.The new warehouse hall at the logistics platform in Błonie is another space dedicated to Polpharma, which has been a client of FM Logistic since 2016. The leader of the pharmaceutical market in Poland has its warehouse and pharmaceutical wholesale facility here with a total area of nearly 20,000 sqm and over 35,000 pallet spaces. The new module will primarily handle operations for export distribution, and it is also additional space intended to secure the ever-growing volumes in domestic distribution.
"We serve nearly 30 manufacturers of medicinal products in Błonie. Every day, we carry out deliveries to over 900 recipients, including hospitals, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical wholesalers. Several hundred people work in this facility, and we have been refining our experience in serving this exceptionally demanding sector for 16 years." – says Paweł Janicki, Senior Business Development Director, FM Logistic – "The warehouse in Błonie is now fully expanded and contracted. We will locate subsequent pharmaceutical clients at our newly created platform in Wiskitki between Łódź and Warsaw. We have already signed the first contracts, and operations will start later this year."
Following the expansion, the logistics platform in Błonie covers nearly 85,000 sqm and has over 100,000 pallet spaces. More than half of the area, i.e., almost 57,000 sqm is intended for serving the pharmaceutical sector, which makes it the largest distribution center in the Central European region for this industry. FM Logistic conducts, among other things, logistics services here, including for the e-commerce channel, pharmaceutical wholesalers, and the manufacturer and importer warehouses of its clients. It also has its own multi-client pharmaceutical warehouse, and within it, a consignment warehouse. On average, 30,000 pallets (incoming and outgoing) are handled monthly.
Confirmation of the high quality of the operator's services for the pharmaceutical industry is the Certificate of Compliance with Good Distribution Practice principles granted to FM Logistic in 2020 by the Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate.
Outside of the pharmaceutical sector, clients from the cosmetics industry are also served at the warehouse in Błonie. There is also a co-manufacturing zone here for a client from the industrial sector.
