GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics real estate, plans to complete projects with a total area of approximately 240,000 sqm in Poland in 2022. The two latest investments, started this year, are the third stage of Poznań Airport Logistics Centre and a new building next to the A2 motorway junction in Grodzisk Mazowiecki near Warsaw. Both projects will be ready in the autumn.
The latest building in the GLP logistics park located 5 minutes from the Poznań-Ławica Airport covers over 28,600 sqm, and the new GLP Warsaw V Logistics Centre investment – 23,400 sqm of warehouse, production and office space. Both facilities are being built in accordance with the requirements of BREEAM environmental certification at the „Very Good” level.
The buildings offer the companies using them the possibility of storage up to a height of 12 meters, as well as natural lighting of the dock area, which improves employee comfort, thanks to an above-standard number of skylights in the hall ceilings. The roofs of the buildings are prepared for the installation of photovoltaic panels, which can have an additional impact on utility savings. Among the pro-ecological solutions are also electric car charging stations, as well as bicycle parking shelters. In both projects, great emphasis was placed on biodiversity and care was taken to create green areas conducive to rest, and drivers delivering or picking up cargo will be able to use dedicated toilets.
„The start of new projects in Poznań and the Warsaw area results from high customer interest in both locations. In both cases, we are talking about buildings with very good access to key road routes, and at the same time in the immediate vicinity of agglomerations with a multi-million base of end consumers. In both cases, we also focused on a full package of sustainable development solutions, thanks to which our clients can not only develop their business, but also record long-term savings related to the operation of logistics space” – comments Jarosław Czechowicz, Country Manager GLP in Poland.
In parallel, GLP continues construction started a year ago, including in Magnice near Wrocław (41,000 sqm in the first two halls) and Gdańsk, where the fifth building (39,000 sqm, fully leased) is being built as part of the Pomeranian Logistics Centre – one of only a few facilities of this type in Poland certified BREEAM at the „Excellent” level.
