GLP starts construction of Wrocław V Logistics Centre

GLP is starting construction on the largest warehouse project currently being developed in the Wrocław metropolitan area. On a 50-hectare site, Wrocław V Logistics Centre will feature buildings with a total area of approximately 240,000 sqm.

The investor is also improving local infrastructure, including the construction of a roundabout junction at the intersection of the access road to the newly emerging warehouses and the S8 expressway.

Excellent connectivity is one of the main advantages of the GLP project. Thanks to the proximity of the S8 route junction, and thus easy access to the A4 and A8 motorways as well as the S3 and S5 expressways, future warehouse users will be able to efficiently distribute goods within the Wrocław metropolitan area, the rest of the country, as well as Germany and the Czech Republic.

Next to the plot are bus stops connecting the suburbs with the center of Wrocław, providing easy access for employees of companies operating in the GLP buildings.

GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre will be equipped on a large scale with energy-saving solutions. Lighting inside the 12-meter-high buildings (two meters higher than usual) will be controllable via the DALI system, and the demand for artificial light will be lower thanks to an above-standard number of roof skylights. In turn, access roads and parking lots on the investment site will be illuminated with LED lamps. For those interested, there is also the possibility of installing photovoltaic panels, with the building roofs being appropriately prepared.

All tenants will be able to monitor electricity, gas, and water consumption on an ongoing basis thanks to so-called smart metering. Accurate data received through this system will enable the implementation of individual solutions to reduce utility expenses.

An important feature of the Wrocław GLP project is the biologically diverse, green surroundings of the buildings. Next to them, there will be bicycle shelters, and in the parking lots, electric vehicle chargers – for both cars and e-bikes. Existing old-growth trees will be preserved on the plot, including an over 100-year-old oak tree.

Our project complies with the guidelines of the BREEAM ecological certificate at the „very good” level and allows – us as a developer and our clients – to achieve ambitious goals in terms of reducing the carbon footprint. We are ready, at the request of companies that will operate in our logistics park, to introduce additional solutions for the benefit of the natural environment, company budgets, and the health and satisfaction of employees – adds Michał Szczepaniak, Business Development Manager at GLP responsible for the project.

The general contractor for GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre is FB Antczak.

This is another contract carried out by FB Antczak for GLP, confirming our competencies in the area of general contracting and the highest standards in terms of sustainable development and ethical work methods. In cooperation with the investor, we are building a technically advanced facility that requires construction experience and knowledge of pro-ecological innovations – emphasizes Marcin Antczak, Vice President of FB Antczak.
