Just a few weeks after the start of construction, the GLP warehouse and production center in Lędziny in Upper Silesia has secured its first tenant. It is Eurotherm Poland Sp. z o.o., part of the Schneider Electric group, which is relocating its industrial automation plant there, specializing in the production of control and measurement equipment.
GLP Lędziny Logistics Centre is one of the most modern investments of this type in Poland, being developed in accordance with the requirements of BREEAM ecological certification at the „very good” level. Right next to the S1 expressway, the first hall with an area of 37,000 sqm is currently being built, along with convenient office facilities.
The first user of the building is the production plant Eurotherm Poland Sp. z.o.o. from the Schneider Electric group – a manufacturer of electronic control and measurement instruments, controllers, recorders, and power controllers for customers around the world.
„We chose a building of exceptional quality, eco-friendly, with easy access to the main transport routes in this part of Poland, which is convenient for both suppliers and our own logistics and employees. We also appreciate the experience of GLP as a developer and manager of industrial properties, which cares about long-term relationships with clients on a partnership basis” – says Krystian Boryń, Plant Director at Eurotherm.
The project in Lędziny is being implemented in accordance with the GLP Design Standard. The buildings will be distinguished by a height of 12 meters, a picking zone deepened to 24 meters and illuminated by sunlight, as well as the roof being prepared for the installation of photovoltaic panels. The installation of machines and production lines will be enabled by the increased floor load capacity (7.5 tons/sqm). Among the solutions promoting energy efficiency is also the Smart Metering system, allowing clients to monitor utility consumption in real time.
The first stage of the GLP Lędziny Logistics Centre will be ready in mid-2021. Ultimately, depending on demand, more than 110,000 sqm of warehouse and production space could be built here.
