Shein will open a large distribution center at GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre.
Shein is an international e-commerce company founded in 2012, selling fashion and lifestyle products. Currently, Shein employs nearly 10,000 people in over 150 countries. The company uses technological solutions that facilitate communication with suppliers, streamlining the supply chain and reducing raw material consumption in production processes.
- We are fully committed to building a new distribution center, where we want to employ over a thousand people by mid-2023. In line with Shein's mission – to make the beauty of fashion accessible to all – we intend to expand our presence in various markets around the world to provide even better services to consumers and contribute to the development of local economies – declare Shein representatives.
The Shein distribution center at GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre is located at the intersection of routes facilitating the delivery of products to customers in Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic. The nearby S8 road junction provides easy access to the A4 and A8 motorways, as well as the S3 and S5 expressways. Employees will benefit from convenient bus and train connections from the center of Wrocław and surrounding towns.
- We are pleased to welcome Shein to Wrocław. Our building will support the company's operations as well as its development and distribution network in the region. This is an important transaction for the e-commerce market in Poland, and at the same time another stage of successful, long-term cooperation between GLP and Shein – a company that already uses our logistics space in, among others, the United States, China, and Brazil - says Michał Szczepaniak, Business Development Manager at GLP responsible for the project.
GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre will be equipped with solutions that promote energy saving. Lighting inside the 12-meter-high buildings will be controllable via the DALI system, and the demand for artificial light will be lower thanks to additional roof skylights. Access roads and parking lots on the investment site will be illuminated with LED lamps. The possibility of installing photovoltaic panels has also been provided for by appropriately preparing the roofs of the buildings.
All tenants will be able to monitor electricity, gas, and water consumption on an ongoing basis thanks to so-called smart metering. Data received through this system will enable the implementation of individual solutions that allow for reducing utility expenses.
GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre is a warehouse project currently being implemented in the Wrocław agglomeration. Ultimately, buildings with a total area of approximately 240,000 sqm will be built here, certified in the BREEAM system at the „Very Good” level.
