Hillwood is building a warehouse center in the heart of Upper Silesia

Hillwood has started construction of a logistics park in Piekary Śląskie. The warehouse with an area of over 42,000 sqm will be commissioned in the last quarter of this year. This is the third Hillwood investment in this region since the beginning of the year. The developer has also started construction of warehouses in Gliwice and Mysłowice.

The class A warehouse center - Hillwood Piekary Śląskie is located by the Upper Silesian Industrial Region Bypass (DW911), leading to the A1 motorway, which is just 1.5 km away. A short distance from the logistics park, there is also an entrance to the Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa (12 km) and an entrance to the A4 motorway leading from west to east (17.5 km).

The park in Piekary Śląskie is a high-bay warehouse with a height of 10 m, where, in addition to storage, light production can be carried out. As in all the developer's buildings, LED lighting will be installed in the warehouse under construction. The building will have the highest standard of fire resistance – above 4000 MJ/sqm. There will be a large and convenient parking lot on the investment site. An additional advantage for employees are the public transport stops located near the logistics center.

"Upper Silesia is the second most popular warehouse market in the country after the capital. The region's advantage is primarily its strategic location and very good road infrastructure, facilitating connections with other parts of Poland and all of Europe, which in turn allows for a significant reduction in transport costs" – says Hubert Michalak, President of the Management Board of Hillwood Polska.

Silesia is developing very dynamically, generating high demand for warehouse space. A huge advantage of the region is also a large labor market and access to qualified employees. The attractiveness of Upper Silesia and the Zagłębie region is also increased by competitive rental prices compared to other locations.

– Hillwood has been active in the Silesian Voivodeship almost since the beginning of our operations in Poland. By the end of 2020, the modern warehouse space built by us in Upper Silesia and the Zagłębie region will increase to almost 220,000 sqm. In the first quarter of this year, we also started the construction of warehouses in Gliwice and Mysłowice, which will provide a total of over 52,000 sqm to the market – says Hubert Michalak.

So far, the company has already built two other warehouse centers in the Silesian Voivodeship – Hillwood Sosnowiec Zagłębie and Hillwood Ruda Śląska. Their expansion will be completed later this year.
