InPost at MDC2 Park Kraków South

MDC2, together with its partner Generali Real Estate, has signed a lease agreement for an 11,000 m2 building with InPost at MDC2 Park Kraków South. This will be a BTS (built to suit) building, tailored to the client's needs, located on a plot prepared for this purpose, intended exclusively for InPost.

The owner of MDC2 Park Kraków South – which is part of an investment portfolio in the logistics sector in Europe – is Generali Real Estate. The developer of the project is MDC2.

In line with the Generali Real Estate strategy focused on sustainable development across its entire European portfolio and the MDC2 strategy based on ESG policy principles, the facility has been designed and developed with the best environmental practices in mind. As with all its projects, MDC2 certifies its buildings according to BREEAM New Construction at a minimum level of Excellent.

Operating for 25 years, Grupa InPost, a leader among e-commerce delivery platforms in Europe, is associated in Poland primarily with Paczkomat® machines. They constitute the main element of a proprietary, fully automated system for sending and delivering parcels. The recognition the company has gained on the Polish market is confirmed by studies according to which as many as 94% of respondents consider Paczkomat® their preferred method of receiving a shipment, and 85% as a form of shipping.* Huge success in Poland has enabled the company to expand into foreign markets – at the end of Q2 2024, Grupa InPost had over 73,000 out-of-home points, including over 40,000 modern Paczkomat® devices and nearly 33,000 PUDO points in 9 European countries.

To strengthen its development in the Kraków region, InPost has signed a lease agreement for space at MDC2 Park Kraków South. The subject of the agreement includes a tailor-made transshipment terminal with a total area of 11,000 m2, and the purpose of the lease is to guarantee the fluidity of logistics operations, the required throughput, and to ensure the fastest possible parcel deliveries in the Kraków region.

MDC2 Park Kraków South is located south of Kraków, in Skawina, by national road no. 44, less than 2 km from the junction with the A4 motorway. By deciding to operate in this location, InPost will benefit from a site with free access to extensive road infrastructure. The proximity of Kraków, the second largest city in Poland, is also an asset for the tenant, as is the neighborhood of industrial and warehouse areas. One of the most important criteria regarding the cooperation is the MDC2 policy focused on modern and eco-friendly solutions.

Every year in Poland, we handle about a million shipments, which is almost 3 thousand every day. Efficient, effective, and reliable logistics infrastructure is the key to our success, thanks to which we can deliver shipments in D+1 mode. The expansion of logistics centers allows us to strengthen our competitive advantages, as well as maintain high service quality and operational efficiency. As a leader in solutions for the e-commerce industry, we want our supply chain to be more environmentally friendly, and our procedures to be the best model of corporate governance. MDC2 and Generali Real Estate share the same values, which is why they have become natural partners for Grupa InPost – says Rafał Brzoska, founder and CEO of InPost.

The buildings at MDC2 Park Kraków South have been designed and constructed with the goal of guaranteeing the lowest possible carbon footprint and maintaining the highest possible energy efficiency.

– The trust that InPost has placed in us is very important to us. We are united by good cooperation, which began in Gdańsk (Kowale), and now it is time for Kraków. Together with MDC2, we are happy to be alongside such a valued tenant and long-term business partner in this wonderful project in Kraków – says Miroslav Nutil, Asset Manager CEE & Nordics Region, Generali Real Estate.

Signing the lease agreement with InPost is for us, above all, an expression of trust that motivates us to further development and the introduction of innovative solutions. For us, this is not only a confirmation of the high quality of our services, but also an opportunity for joint development in the area of the dynamically growing e-commerce market in Poland – says Katarzyna Dudzik, Development Director at MDC2
