LPP Logistics has launched a new distribution center near Bukareszt. The facility with an area of 56,000 sqm will serve Grupa LPP stores in Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece, supporting the company's further expansion in South-Eastern Europe.
56,000 sqm for regional distribution
The new center has already started handling deliveries to Grupa LPP's brick-and-mortar stores. The warehouse can accommodate approximately 35 million items of assortment and has been prepared with a view to further increasing the scale of operations.
The facility will primarily support the development of the Sinsay brand, which is intensively expanding its sales network in the region.
Brick-and-mortar and e-commerce logistics in one location
The center was built adjacent to a fulfillment facility launched in November 2025. As a result, LPP Logistics can handle both deliveries to stores and online orders from a single area.
An additional advantage is the proximity of the port in Konstanca, which facilitates the organization of sea deliveries and shortens the route of goods to the regional distribution network.
The new investment also completes the process of rebuilding the company's logistics facilities after the fire at the previous warehouse.
First 454 stores, later twice as many
In the first stage, the center was equipped with automation systems enabling the simultaneous preparation of deliveries for 454 stores.
The next expansion of the infrastructure is planned for the beginning of 2027. Upon its completion, the operational capacity of the warehouse is expected to increase to serve approximately 900 stores.
By the end of 2026, employment at the facility will exceed 300 people. With the further development of the center, the number of employees is expected to increase even more.
Warehouses closer to sales markets
The location of the center near Bukareszt fits into the strategy of developing logistics infrastructure closer to key markets.
Such a solution allows to:
- shorten delivery routes,
- replenish stock in stores faster,
- increase operational flexibility,
- respond more efficiently to changes in demand,
- reduce dependence on warehouses located in other parts of Europe.
The new facility is to serve the growing sales network of Grupa LPP in Southern and South-Eastern Europe.
High energy standard
The center utilizes solutions that reduce the consumption of energy and water, as well as the environmental impact of warehouse operations.
The building has been equipped with, among others:
- a greywater recovery system,
- energy-efficient LED lighting,
- water and air treatment installations,
- petroleum substance separation systems,
- solutions providing natural daylighting at the level of 3.5%.
The facility has a class A energy certificate and is undergoing BREEAM certification at the Outstanding level.
Romania increasingly important in the LPP network
The launch of the center near Bukareszt shows the growing importance of Romania in the European logistics network of Grupa LPP. The combination of a large warehouse space, automation, and a convenient location relative to sales markets is to provide the company with the facilities needed for further expansion.
The planned expansion to serve 900 stores indicates that the facility was designed from the beginning not only with current needs in mind, but also for subsequent stages of growth.
