P3 Logistic Parks has built a BTS-type warehouse at the P3 Bydgoszcz park for DPD Polska – a logistics operator that is part of Geopost, the largest European courier operator.
The DPD facility has 7,117 sqm of warehouse space and 742 sqm of office space and performs functions related to local parcel processing. It is distinguished by its characteristic shape resulting from the type of operations conducted and the need to adapt the building's structure to the conditions of the plot on which it was built. The building is equipped with 105 gates of various types, including dock and courier gates.
Zbigniew Smyczyński, Head of Development Poland says: „This is the first agreement in Poland concluded between P3 and DPD. I am glad that we could start our cooperation by designing a modern cross-dock facility, completed in accordance with the client's requirements. I am convinced that, combined with an attractive location, it will meet the client's requirements and allow for the efficient conduct of logistics processes. The new facility in Bydgoszcz is also our debut in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region, which is an emerging warehouse market on the Polish logistics map and is gaining popularity, among other things, thanks to its central location".
The facility has a BREEAM certificate at the Excellent level. The roof of the building has been reinforced and prepared for the installation of photovoltaic panels and solar collectors, which will be used for heating domestic hot water during the summer season. 10 chargers for electric vehicles have been installed in front of the warehouse, and connections for another ten have been planned.
„The DPD branch in Bydgoszcz is a combination of modern technologies and a well-thought-out infrastructure design, which makes us ready for market development, a growing number of individual customers, and increased volumes from business partners, both locally, regionally, and nationwide. Our goal was to create a branch of the future – flexible, efficient, and at the same time friendly to employees and open to market needs. And that is exactly what we managed to achieve, for which I would like to thank the entire team working on this project” summarized Magdalena Chojnacka, regional director at DPD Polska.
