Morele logistics center in a new version

The company Morele has modernized its logistics center. The total cost of the investment exceeded 20 million PLN.

The modernization of the logistics center began at the beginning of June this year and was carried out in stages.
The implementation of a new system for handling orders in the Morele online store lasted almost three months and did not affect the shipping of purchases to customers.
The most important part of the investment was the purchase of an automated storage system for products offered by Morele.
Work began with the arrangement of free space for the new system and the preparation of the electrical installation. In the next phase, in cooperation with the company Element Logic, the Autostore system was implemented, allowing for the storage of products placed in plastic containers, which are delivered by robots to the employee completing the orders.

In the next stage of the investment, automatic storage using conveyors was connected with solutions that the company had long been using in its logistics center, such as a packing machine, a shipping label applicator, and a sorter. Before the new system began supporting order processing, tests were conducted which did not show any significant errors in its operation.

- The system that we have recently acquired in our logistics center belongs to the world's elite in terms of technology, as evidenced by how often it is implemented in various logistics operations. We are pleased that this standard solution is controlled by an MFC system adapted to our needs and equipped with tools designed by us in the field of work ergonomics - says Mateusz Kapusta, Logistics Director at Morele.

In this investment, we wanted to refine every detail, which is why all elements were tested on mock-ups by the management staff and employees until a satisfactory effect was achieved - adds Mateusz Kapusta.

As he describes, during the project implementation, the biggest challenge was conducting modernization work in such a way that it would not negatively affect the order fulfillment process. - Ultimately, we managed to achieve this, among other things, through proper planning of the work. The entire team from our logistics center was involved in the project already at the planning stage, thanks to which, during the system launch, we understood each other perfectly, we knew what needed to be improved and how to solve problems that we might encounter. The support of the suppliers of individual elements, on which we could always count, was also of great importance here - he says.

This is not the end of changes in the Morele logistics center
The investment cost Morele over 20 million PLN, and its most important part was the purchase of the Autostore system. Interestingly, the company announces that this is not the end of the new features that will be implemented in its logistics center in the near future; some of them are already being tested.

Through modernization, Morele wants to serve its customers and sellers cooperating with the company even more effectively.
