Panattoni has completed a production facility for the Fortaco Group in Knurów, Silesia. The newly opened factory, covering over 34,000 sqm, will provide jobs for approximately 200 people and will help consolidate Fortaco's operations and optimize its logistics.
The grand opening of the new Fortaco facility took place on October 3, 2024, and was attended by representatives of the company, local authorities, Fortaco's business partners, and members of the Panattoni team, highlighting the importance of this investment for the local community and the regional economy. The Fortaco Group is a leading European manufacturer of steel structures and welded cabins, supplying products for the machinery and transport industries.
- „Panattoni has for years seen the enormous potential of Silesia as a region that is transforming from an industrial mining hub into a modern industrial center. The new Fortaco factory is proof of how important this region is becoming on the map of Europe's reindustrialization” - said Aurelia Rachtan, Associate Development Director at Panattoni. She added: - „We are pleased that Fortaco has placed its trust in us for the realization of this project. We hope that this facility will be the beginning of a long-term cooperation”.
The facility's foundations were additionally reinforced for specialized machinery, and the building features 38 overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 10 tons to support production operations. - „The new factory in Knurów enables us to consolidate operations and continue our technological development. Thanks to this investment, we are ready to meet growing market demands while achieving our sustainable development goals” – emphasized Jarosław Szytow, Managing Director at Fortaco Group.
The factory was designed in accordance with the highest standards of sustainable development. The facility will undergo BREEAM certification at the Excellent level, which testifies to its high energy efficiency and care for the environment. The hall's roof has been additionally reinforced for the installation of a photovoltaic system. Numerous trees and shrubs have been planted on the site, and a flower meadow and a relaxation zone with small architectural elements have been created. Nesting boxes and insect hotels will further support local biodiversity.
The factory is located in Knurów, in the Silesian Voivodeship, making it perfectly connected to key industrial centers in the region. - „We are grateful for the support of the Knurów City Hall, which enabled the efficient realization of the project, as well as to our partner, PGNiG, for their help in addressing technical challenges” - added Aurelia Rachtan.
