Oriflame to move into MDC2 Park Łódź South

Oriflame Holding AG – an international cosmetics holding company involved in the production and distribution of cosmetics is moving its dispatch center to MDC2 Park Łódź South, a warehouse park in Głuchów – located 19 km south of the Łódź border, with direct access to the Tuszyn junction of the A1 motorway - the main transport route running from the northern to the southern border of Poland, which will ensure efficient delivery of products to Poland and other European countries. The A2 motorway and the S8 expressway also run near Łódź. Additionally, the S14 expressway runs through this location, connecting the A2 motorway (Emilia junction) with the S8 expressway (Róża junction).

The project, belonging to Fortress Real Estate Investments Limited (Fortress), a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) that invests in, develops, and manages commercial real estate projects in South Africa and Central and Eastern Europe, is being implemented by MDC2.

MDC2 Park Łódź South consists of two distribution and logistics buildings with a planned total GLA of over 80,000 m2. The space for Oriflame will be tailored to individual needs to enable the storage and distribution of the tenant's wide range of products.

Oriflame has been present on the Polish market for over 25 years and is consistently developing its operations, offering a wide range of natural cosmetics through direct sales programs. Moving the logistics center to Łódź is a strategic step in the company's policy of strengthening its position on the domestic and European market.

–The decision to move our logistics center to MDC2 Park Łódź South is a response to the company's dynamic development and the growing needs of our consumers in Poland and Europe. The facility meets all our requirements regarding sustainable development and energy efficiency. The eco-friendly solutions used fit perfectly with our environmental goals. We are convinced that this investment will allow us to even better meet the needs of our consultants and their customers, delivering products in even shorter time and with the highest quality of service – says Tomasz Gomułka, Sr. Director Global SC Transformation, Oriflame.

MDC2 is a leader in changes regarding the sustainable development of warehouse space in Poland. All MDC2 buildings have a BREEAM New Construction certificate at the Excellent level as a minimum. The developer uses market-leading environmentally friendly solutions. According to an independent Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted by PM Services, MDC2 Park Łódź South shows a CO2 equivalent of 163 kg CO2e/m2, 49% lower than the Polish average of 319 kg CO2e/m2, and also 61% lower compared to the global average (413 kg CO2e/m2).

At MDC2 Park Łódź South, the roofs are adapted for the installation of photovoltaic panels, and increased wall insulation is used. Electric vehicle chargers are available at the facility. Biologically diverse green areas are being created in the surroundings of the buildings. A Rest & Move zone has also been planned in the MDC2 Park Łódź South area, an innovative concept on the Polish market for the warehouse park environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle and improves working conditions for all users of the developer's warehouse facilities.

–We are very pleased that Oriflame has decided to locate its new distribution center in our warehouse park. Our facility was designed to ensure the highest operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of sustainable development. The solutions applied here fit perfectly with the strategy of Oriflame, which places great emphasis on environmental responsibility. Modern infrastructure, excellent location, and access to 43,000 employees* living in the Łódź East County in a zone just 15 minutes away from MDC2 Park Łódź South will allow for efficient and reliable handling of Oriflame product distribution to the Polish and European market – says Adrian Winiarek, Development Director at MDC2.
