Panattoni is building a warehouse facility for a meat producer and exporter. The BTS (built-to-suit) building with an area of 10,153 sq m is being constructed near Ostróda in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
The construction of a warehouse and distribution center for a producer and exporter of pork and poultry meat has just begun. As part of the investment, Panattoni will build a warehouse hall with a total area of 10,153 sq m, of which just over 330 sq m has been allocated for social and office space. More than 4,500 sq m will be occupied by three cold stores, where the temperature can range from 0 to +6 degrees C. They will be serviced by 8 docks with loading houses. A freezer with a controlled temperature of -22 degrees C will be created in another 2,500 sq m of the hall. Nearly 2,000 sq m has been allocated for a dry warehouse. The facility will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2021.
"The facility is not large, but it is to be built in just seven months. At the same time, due to the industry, it is a demanding facility. We are dealing with food, so it is necessary to obtain the necessary certificates for the applied solutions, such as HACCP, which will confirm the safety of the stored food. Thermal insulation adapted to cold storage rooms in the food industry must also comply with standards". - admits Marek Foryński, Managing Director of BTS Group at Panattoni.
The new BTS project, this time for the meat industry, will be built in Tyrowo near Ostróda on a plot of 2.7 hectares. The advantage of the location is immediate access to the S7 expressway (Warsaw-Gdańsk), and thus to the seaport in the Tri-City. The Ostróda Municipality is a dynamically developing region with many important factors from the point of view of investors. Intensive talks regarding the location of this investment in the Ostróda Municipality have been going on for a long time, which is commented on by Ostróda Municipality Mayor Bogusław Fijas: "The new venture will certainly improve the situation on the local labor market. This is another economic investment in the municipality, which proves that these areas are attractive to investors and the business climate is friendly. We try to be open to entrepreneurs, not to create artificial problems, but to help at every stage of the task. I am convinced that further cooperation will proceed as successfully as before, as this is a key element of the development strategy of the Ostróda Municipality. The pro-investment policy of the municipality is gradually increasing the interest of investors in its areas."
Panattoni likes to "tailor-make". This is another facility implemented by Panattoni in the BTS formula, i.e., for the specific needs of the tenant. So far, the developer has delivered over 3 million sq m of this type of space, and more are under construction. BTS projects have been created for, among others, Amazon, BSH, DSV, DPD, Flextronics, GE, H&M, Kellogs, K-flex, Knauff Industries, Leroy Merlin, Bombardier, Pilkington, Recticel Komfort Snu, Faurecia, Sauer Danfoss or Hydroline. They include both production areas and large distribution centers adapted to the needs of e-commerce.
