Panattoni has completed its largest project in the Lesser Poland region – Panattoni Park Kraków North with an area of over 56,500 sqm. Approx. 21,000 sqm is occupied by Trivium Packaging and over 25,000 sqm by the company Almus. These are the two largest lease agreements for Panattoni in the region.
Panattoni Park Kraków North is now close to full commercialization. – „Initially, for the Kraków market, this was a non-obvious location, however, the strategic, long-term vision of Panattoni, which is appreciated by subsequent tenants, has paid off. By the end of next year, a section of the S7 road, which is key for the region and will ultimately connect Gdańsk with the southern border, will be completed. Furthermore, within a radius of less than 100 km from the park, there are two international airports – Kraków-Balice and Katowice-Pyrzowice. Additionally, Wężerów – where the investment is located – is situated at a distance from Kraków that allows for offering competitive conditions while maintaining a very good connection with the regional capital. This attracts international companies, but also regional ones, which can consolidate their smaller spaces here” – says Michał Samborski, Head of Development at Panattoni.
The first tenant of the park was Trivium Packaging, a global manufacturer of metal packaging, which occupied 21,000 sqm in the first quarter of this year. The company is moving its existing chemical packaging production to the Lesser Poland facility. Lacquering and packaging processes will also be carried out in the facility. From Panattoni Park Kraków North, the company will serve the Polish market and numerous European markets. The Kraków plant will be a reference point in the European portfolio of Trivium Packaging – the investment will be carried out in accordance with high standards of sustainable construction and will obtain BREEAM environmental certification at the Excellent level, ensuring a significant reduction in energy, water, and CO2 emissions. By providing a modern and ecological facility, Panattoni perfectly fits into the tenant's policy: „Circularity Champion”. One of its pillars is cooperation with entities that care about circularity and resource conservation. This is one of the key aspects of the „Go Earthwise with Panattoni” sustainable development concept.
The second facility, which reached approx. 25,000 sqm and was handed over at the turn of the second and third quarters of this year, will also undergo BREEAM Excellent certification. The entire area was occupied by the company Almus – a manufacturer of the highest quality hygienic and industrial papers. In this case, Panattoni prepared a specially separated fire zone for the client for storing semi-finished products for the production of toilet paper and paper towels. The location of the park allowed for further development in the region from which the company originates. Almus has a production plant in Słomniki, and the modern facility will allow for the consolidation of a dozen or so smaller warehouse locations, which will optimize logistics.
- „Large lease agreements with the companies Trivium Packaging and Almus confirm not only the accuracy of the decision to locate the park in Wężerów, but also the potential of the Lesser Poland region for manufacturing companies. Panattoni proves itself perfectly as their partner, providing both factories and warehouse-logistics facilities, which are key for supply chains” – summarizes Michał Samborski.
