Panattoni has completed the construction of a BTS facility for Animex Foods, the largest food company in Poland, a producer and exporter of meat. The modern building with an area of 10,153 sq m was built near Ostróda in the
Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and meets very high standards related to food storage.
„Despite the ongoing pandemic and a harsher winter than in recent years, we managed to complete it on time. The facility required meeting high technical standards and obtaining certificates confirming that the food stored here will be safe. However, such challenges are not new to us. Panattoni specializes in building BTS facilities for companies from various industries, ranging from manufacturers of batteries for electric cars or household appliances to e-commerce giants. One-third of the space we have delivered so far, which is over 3 million sq m, consists of facilities built for the specific needs of tenants” – explains
Marek Foryński, BTS Managing Director, Panattoni. The latest investment is intended to strengthen the further development of Animex Foods and improve its competitiveness. The company is a leader in the pork, poultry, and processed meat products market in Poland. It owns brands such as Krakus, Morliny, and Berlinki. Since 1999, Animex Foods has been part of the international food industry giant Smithfield Foods, and since 2013, the WH Group - the world's largest pork producer.
„The new warehouse and distribution center was built near one of our key processing plants. Thanks to it, we will be able to increase the operational capabilities of the nearby plant and improve the efficiency of the supply chain. The proximity of our suppliers and immediate access to the S7 expressway (Warsaw-Gdańsk), and thus the seaport in the Tri-City, is crucial. According to the adopted strategy, approx. 30 percent of the company's annual revenue comes from exports, carried out, among others, to European Union countries and Great Britain, as well as the USA or Vietnam." - explains
Łukasz Dominiak, Director of Public and Government Relations at Animex Foods. The new Animex Foods warehouse and distribution center was built on a 2.7-hectare plot in Tyrowo near Ostróda. The area of over 10,000 sq m includes, among others, three cold stores (with temperatures from 0 to +6 °C), a freezer with a controlled temperature of -22 °C, and a dry warehouse.
