Panattoni has completed the expansion of the Kongsberg factory in Brześć Kujawski

Panattoni has completed the expansion of the factory for Kongsberg, a global manufacturer in the automotive industry. The investment was carried out in Brześć Kujawski, where the developer added another 6000 sq m to the existing 16,000 sq m, and the entire process was completed while maintaining the continuity of production at the existing plant. In the building handed over to the tenant on July 14th of this year, the client plans partial automation of operations.

Panattoni has delivered 250,000 sq m for the automotive industry in Poland this year and last. Of this, more than 30,000 sq m was developed by the developer for the Norwegian manufacturer with a global reach – Kongsberg, and at the end of 2021, it started the expansion of the company's plant in Brześć Kujawski. To the 16,000 sq m delivered by Panattoni in 2018, the company added another 6000 sq m, and the entire process took place while maintaining the continuity of production of the existing plant. In the newly created part, technological equipment was installed for the needs of the „FTS” (fluid transport systems) fuel and compressed air lines department. The developer prepared the surface, among other things, for the installation of an automatic hose assembly station and an automatic hose marking and cutting station. The facility was handed over on July 14th of this year, and the lease agreement was concluded for 15 years.

„This is another expansion of the Kongsberg plant in Poland carried out with Panattoni, which confirms that cooperation with us is not only a guarantee of quality, but also of stability. Manufacturing companies want to grow with us; we have already delivered a total of 1.5 million sq m for them.” – says Marzena Tkaczuk, BTS Development  Director - Head of BTS Integrity and Management at Panattoni and adds: – „The project in Brześć Kujawski is also another building block for the rapid development of the region. Last year, Kujawy enjoyed one of the highest demands for industrial space outside the so-called Big Five, which shows that the hunger for investment here is very high. We are glad that it is largely being satisfied by Panattoni”.

After completing the current project, the total area delivered by Panattoni for Kongsberg in Poland amounted to nearly 40,000 sq m – as part of the projects in Brześć Kujawski and Koluszki. However, this is only a small percentage of all the developer's projects dedicated to production processes. In Central Europe and Germany, the company has already built 50 BTS-type facilities so far. In 2021 alone, it completed investments for companies such as Weber, Danfoss, Leviat, and Reyaers Aluminium, and in previous years it delivered, among others, a dishwasher factory for BSH and forklifts for Linde.

Location supported by action. The Kongsberg plant is located in an excellent location, in the immediate vicinity of the A1 motorway - connecting the northern and southern borders of Poland – approx. 80 km from the geographical center of the country. Furthermore, it is located in the Brzeska Economic Zone, considered the driving force of the entire Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. The pro-investment policy of the authorities, the preparation of land for investment, and human capital, combined with the location, attract global businesses from many sectors – from logistics, through clothing and manufacturing, to chemical. The zone is constantly being developed – among other things, new bus lines are being launched, and a new technological road is being built, and the development of the area is a priority for local authorities.
