Panattoni received a green loan for a BTS investment in Bydgoszcz

Panattoni has obtained a pioneering green loan from Berlin Hyp AG worth 74.34 million euros. The funds are intended for the development of a logistics center in Bydgoszcz for a leading e-commerce company. The granting of the green loan was conditional upon a detailed verification of the pro-ecological solutions applied. This is the first such loan granted by Berlin Hyp for a project in the Polish warehouse sector.

- „The BTS investment in Bydgoszcz is a huge undertaking – a building with an area of over 140,000 sqm is designed to serve the e-commerce market and can accommodate up to 7 million individual products. It was designed in accordance with the highest standards of sustainable development and then underwent a verification process that allowed us to convert previous financing terms into a more favorable green loan” – says Emilia Taczewska-Trojańska, Head of Debt Finance Poland, Panattoni. She adds: - „Currently, financial institutions offer preferential terms for projects distinguished by high energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy sources or other ecological innovations, including advanced technologies that help reduce carbon dioxide emissions”.

The granting of the green loan means that the building has met rigorous sustainable development criteria and reflects Panattoni's commitment to environmentally friendly development. The investment in Bydgoszcz has achieved high energy efficiency indicators, thanks to a significant reduction in energy needs and energy consumption. Advanced thermal insulation solutions, the use of heat pumps, and LED lighting helped in this. Energy and water consumption are monitored on an ongoing basis by a modern Building Management System (BMS). The logistics center has passed BREEAM certification at the Excellent level.

The financial sector has quickly adapted its strategy to the requirements set by the European Green Deal, which aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, and Berlin Hyp is at the forefront of this change. Its holistic approach to sustainable finance takes into account not only profitability but also the company's responsibility towards sustainable development and society. Through green financing, the bank supports projects that significantly contribute to the development of green construction and meet the latest European standards for sustainable investments. Projects covered by such financing, including the logistics center in Bydgoszcz, are characterized by high energy efficiency. The bank's commitment is further confirmed by a rigorous verification process of such an investment, supervised by ISS ESG, a leading sustainable development rating agency.

- „We would like to thank Berlin Hyp for their cooperation and trust in this groundbreaking project. Together, we have set new standards for the logistics sector and paved the way for a more sustainable future” – says Emilia Taczewska-Trojańska.
