The Dutch branch of Panattoni is starting the implementation of an ultra-modern park in Venlo South. The investment with a total area of 43,225 sq m consists of two facilities with areas of 25,175 sq m and 18,080 sq m. To implement it, Panattoni signed a land purchase agreement with Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij Midden Limburg (OML). The Venlo South distribution center is the developer's first project in the Netherlands since the company began operations in the region in December 2019.
Construction of the first Panattoni park in the Netherlands will begin in 2021. Two facilities with a clear height of 12.20 m each will be equipped with 37 docks, while the parking lot is designed for 265 passenger cars and 9 trucks. The new complex will be built in accordance with the BREEAM standard at the „Very Good” level, and the roofs of the buildings included in it will be adapted for the installation of solar panels. The complex is to be completed in September 2021.
„This is a fantastic start to our operations, just six months after Panattoni entered the Netherlands. We see a future in central and southern Limburg due to the better availability of personnel, which will allow us to properly service distribution centers. The investment is located in the vicinity of the villages of Linne, Herten and the city of Roermond, thanks to which employees can commute by bike or walk to work. The location also has the same multimodal advantages and is additionally close to the German sales market, like other popular places in Limburg. I think that logistics and everything related to it has proven its value during the coronavirus crisis. And right now, when the number of unemployed is rising again, thanks to this kind of initiative we can attract new jobs to the region” - comments Jeroen Gerritsen, Managing Director of Panattoni in the Netherlands.
„We are very pleased with the implementation of a sustainable distribution center by Panattoni in the Netherlands, in central Limburg. This provides new development opportunities for companies in the region, as well as opportunities for those enterprises that are just starting their operations. The region already has a thriving culture and logistics infrastructure, including large distribution centers for Hansen Dranken, UPS, Plus, Lidl, Aldi, Actio and Dick Vijn Logistiek. With the development of the distribution center by the Dutch branch of Panattoni, many great companies will join this portfolio.” - adds Jeroen Bertjens, Senior Marketing and Sales Consultant.
