Panattoni is expanding Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport to meet the needs of a new tenant. It is PEKAES - a leading logistics operator, which will occupy 11,500 sq m, and the developer will additionally secure another 4,000 sq m for its future expansion. As early as March 2021, the operator will use both a traditional warehouse and cross-dock space.
In the first half of 2020 alone, the developer leased over 100,000 sq m in the Tri-City region, with more projects in the pipeline. One of them will be the preparation of nearly 15,500 sq m for the company PEKAES at Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport. The logistics operator will use a facility divided into two parts - a warehouse and a cross-dock area, which will feature 34 transshipment platforms installed in a „dock house” structure and an external ramp measuring 3.5 x 63 m. Furthermore, this part will be equipped with 34 sectional gates with glazing, one drive-in gate from level „0”, as well as three sectional gates with access to the ramp. In the facility, the tenant will also use over 800 sq m of office space. PEKAES will begin operations at Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport in March 2021. The construction will take about half a year, and the space will be prepared in accordance with BREEAM certification at the VERY GOOD level. The modern transshipment terminal will strengthen the logistics operator's nationwide distribution network and ensure even faster and smoother handling of a larger number of domestic and international shipments.
"PEKAES focuses on development and constant improvement of the quality of its services. New investments and the continuous development of the distribution network are part of the company's long-term strategy, which we are consistently implementing, once again in cooperation with Panattoni. Gdańsk, as well as Gdynia, with all their potential, play a key role on the map of PEKAES logistics operations." – states Maciej Bachman, President of the Management Board of PEKAES.
„Year after year, Pomerania is becoming an increasingly important part of our portfolio. In the first half of this year, we signed more contracts only in the Warsaw region and in Greater Poland, and leasing space to PEKAES shows that we do not intend to slow down. Proximity to ports, excellent road connections, access to labor, and at the same time still a lot of space for development. All this makes Pomerania have huge potential to become the heart of the Polish economy, and we want to feel its beat”. - comments Martyna Sochaczewska, Senior Leasing Manager at Panattoni.
By moving into Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport, PEKAES gains an excellent location in close proximity to strategic points in the region. The complex is located in the immediate vicinity of the Lech Wałęsa International Airport, 18 km from the Port of Gdańsk – one of the most important in Europe – and 15 km from the center of the voivodeship capital. Furthermore, numerous access roads run in the near vicinity of the park, which will allow for efficient transport both in the region and throughout the country. The park also fits perfectly into the Tri-City public transport system, benefiting from, among other things, the presence of the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway station or a bus stop. The attractive location will also ensure excellent exposure of the warehouse.
Panattoni Park Gdańsk Airport is the developer's largest project within its own parks in Pomerania. Ultimately, the complex will reach nearly 107,000 sq m in four buildings, and over 87,000 sq m have already found tenants. In September, construction will begin on a hall with an area of 39,626 sq m, in which, among others, PEKAES will conduct its operations. All facilities offer the highest quality offices and warehouses as well as state-of-the-art goods storage solutions. The park is equipped with convenient maneuvering areas and „0” gates, and also allows for flexible configuration of modules. Thanks to its excellent location, the complex fits perfectly into the concept of the so-called airport district, created by warehouses, office buildings, and a modern research and development center.
