Pepco is strengthening its logistics facilities by expanding its cooperation with DHL Supply Chain. The operator will take over the management of five key distribution centers in Europe, which is expected to streamline deliveries and support the further expansion of the store network.

Five centers in the region under one management

The new model covers strategic locations in Central and Eastern Europe:

  • Sosnowiec
  • Rawa Mazowiecka
  • Gyál
  • Bukareszt

The expansion of cooperation means greater integration of logistics operations and the construction of a coherent, scalable distribution system throughout the region.

Bukareszt as a key hub for southern Europe

Of particular importance is the center in Bukareszt, which will serve not only Romania, but also:

  • Bulgaria,
  • Greece.

This is also the entry of DHL Supply Chain into the contract logistics segment on the Romanian market, which expands the service offering in this country.

Comprehensive supply chain management

In the distribution centers, the operator is responsible for a full range of services:

  • warehousing and order picking,
  • handling of inbound and outbound deliveries,
  • loading and distribution to stores,
  • activities increasing operational efficiency.

Thanks to this, Pepco can react faster to changes in demand and develop its sales network more efficiently.

Automation and scalability

Three of the five centers are already highly automated, which translates into:

  • greater throughput,
  • higher picking accuracy,
  • more stable order fulfillment times.

The integrated warehouse network also increases operational resilience – it allows maintaining continuity of deliveries even in the event of disruptions.

Cooperation grows along with the business

The partnership between Pepco and DHL Supply Chain has been developing since 2019 and covers more and more markets.

Currently, the operator manages:

  • approx. 290 thousand sqm of warehouse space,
  • a team of over 1500 employees,
  • logistics for over 4000 Pepco stores in Europe.

Effect for customers

The expansion of logistics facilities has a direct impact on the functioning of stores:

  • faster deliveries of goods,
  • greater product availability,
  • better supply stability.

This is one of the largest contract logistics projects in European retail in recent years, which is expected to support the further dynamic development of the Pepco network.
