The Ministry of Development, together with the Chief Sanitary Inspector, has prepared a list of recommendations for entrepreneurs in the transport and logistics industry, which are intended to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection.
The ministry emphasizes, above all, maintaining appropriate hygiene measures in the workplace. It recommends regular and thorough hand washing with soap and water or disinfection with an agent based on at least 60 percent alcohol. It is important to provide vehicle drivers with disinfecting gels or liquids whenever possible. Additionally, the Ministry of Development recommends placing soap or other disinfectant dispensers in visible areas of the premises and ensuring they are regularly refilled. The ministry also advises posting information in a visible place on how to wash hands effectively and disseminating knowledge about occupational health and safety among employees.
Furthermore, means of transport and equipment for internal movement of goods should remain constantly clean and hygienic. "Touch surfaces, i.e., steering wheels, door handles, knobs, keyboards, dashboards must be regularly wiped with a disinfectant or wiped with water and detergent" - we read in the announcement.
The same precautions and hygiene measures should also cover office and warehouse spaces where employees and clients are present: "Touch surfaces such as: desks, tables, door handles, light switches, railings and other objects (e.g., phones, keyboards, payment terminals) must be regularly wiped with a disinfectant or wiped with water and detergent; all frequently used areas, such as toilets, common rooms, should be regularly and carefully cleaned using water and detergent" - the ministry recommends.
Additionally, it is recommended to maintain a safe distance from the interlocutor (1-1.5m), and if possible, contact clients via phone or email and promote cashless payments.
The Ministry of Development emphasizes that wearing masks by healthy people is not recommended. According to the latest recommendations, protective masks should be worn by sick people, people caring for the sick, and medical personnel working with patients suspected of coronavirus infection.
