Rohlig Suus Logistics prefers Outstanding over Excellent

Rohlig Suus will be the anchor tenant at MDC2 Park Gliwice – projected to be the greenest and highest-rated warehouse project in Poland in terms of „BREEAM New Construction Outstanding” certification
MDC² Park Gliwice is located at the intersection of the A4 and A1 motorways in Gliwice in Upper Silesia

Rohlig Suus Logistics has leased 20,393 sqm at MDC2 Park Gliwice, including 19,773 sqm of warehouse space and 420 sqm of office and social space. The total area of the 3 warehouse buildings in the entire park will exceed 57,000 sqm.

„We chose MDC2 Park Gliwice because of its location, but also its very high score in the BREEAM New Construction certification. ESG issues are extremely important in SUUS's development strategy. We want our facilities to be „green”, but also properly adapted to the needs of employees or drivers, which also has an impact on ensuring the highest quality of services for our clients”– explains Sylwester Wzorek, Senior Facility Manager at Rohlig Suus Logistics. 

„Year after year, we see increasing development in the Silesian Voivodeship, which is why we decided on a new, larger warehouse at MDC² Park Gliwice. The location of the facility, at the intersection of transport routes – the A1 and A4 motorways – is also extremely important to us” – says Grzegorz Łukaszek, Branch Director Katowice at Rohlig Suus Logistics. „This investment will significantly increase our operational capabilities, which will allow us to streamline our services, which in the region we direct, among others, to clients from the automotive industry – he adds.

The ESG policy in both companies is of paramount importance and takes into account environmental issues, as well as the well-being of clients, suppliers, and employees.
The Gliwice investment site features the Rest & Move zone - an innovative concept on the Polish market for the warehouse park environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle and improves working conditions for all users of the developer's warehouse facilities. The elements proposed to its users include a gym created in cooperation with the „TruckersLife” foundation and a multi-purpose sports field, as well as rest areas, including barbecue grills. 

„In the lease area, a social zone dedicated to visitors to Rohlig Suus Logistics will be created. This is an exception on the Polish market, which, along with the development of ESG policy in the industry, is gaining increasing importance, especially in relation to the professional group of truck drivers. Caring for their well-being is in the interest of all entities involved in logistics processes. As part of a similar concept, MDC2 is preparing the surroundings of the entire complex. To this end, a special Rest&Move zone will be created, and it will include a gym - in partnership with the TruckersLife foundation - a multisport field, and rest areas. The idea behind the Rest&Move project is to promote a healthy lifestyle and improve working conditions for everyone using the developer's warehouse facility” – says Katarzyna Dudzik, Development Director at MDC2.

MDC2 Park Gliwice is being created taking into account the guidelines of the BREEAM New Construction certification at the Outstanding level. Such a high rating is possible thanks to the use of a number of solutions that increase the energy efficiency of the buildings, as well as thanks to a well-thought-out environment that is biodiverse and prepared with the well-being of employees in mind.

Rohlig Suus will begin its operations at MDC2 Park Gliwice this autumn.
